Could be better!

Large Hotel, recently refurbished. Not very accessible other than by car, and the roadworks around Dublin at present make it a very unpleasant journey. Number 69 Bus stops outside the Hotel and goes to Aston Quay, central Dublin, but only ever 45Minutes. Journey time 1 hour due to roadworks. Hotel run a shuttle bus to the local tram station but it is expensive and doesnt run after 5pm at night! Our room, although clean, was not very good. Lock on the toilet door was broken, of 3 lamps in the room only one worked! The walls are paper thin, you will hear every word from the adjoining rooms!! I could even hear next door stirring their tea at 3 am!! The fan in the shower room stayed on all the time, almost impossible to sleep with the noise of it. The heating in the room works from a ceiling blower and once swithched on it was like a hurricane so if you want a warm room you wont get any sleep! On our last morning there was a local powercut and as the Hotel does not have a generator that meant, NO heat, NO water (the hotel system is pressurised from an electric pump) so therefore No toilet, shower, shaver etc... No breakfast. The swimming pool does not admit children after 6pm. Take my advice, stay somewhere closer to the city centre, avoid this Hotel!

We booked on line using Central Reservations. However the hotel contacted us two days before our trip telling us they were overbooked and that we would have to re-locate to The Comfort Inn. I asked what choice did we have and they told me that when we arrived we just couldnt get a room! I had a reservation number and had paid a deposit but that didnt count for anything. They also told us all six of us as I have four children that the hotel was "just across the road"!! It was not, it was further out and we had to cross a busy junction to get there. Anyway we had no choice but to go the The Comfort Inn which is really clinical! Not at all suitable for children and teenager. I was not happy and again contact the GreenIsle who told me that I was not the only one and more or less to get over it. Anyway we relented and had to stay in the Comfort Inn. We were allowed to use to swimming pool at the GreenIsale at a cost of 10 euro and they had run out of towels due to the busy week-end. The attendant here was most unhelpful and rude. I wouldnt book on line if I were you as they dont seem to honour these bookings and all in all I wouldnt dream of staying there or even booking again. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and these were the most unhelpful I have ever come across.

Can't wait to go!

I know I would love it! I actually haven't been there. I just want to go to Europe. It looks like a really nice hotel. OK - who is up to going to Scotland and Ireland next year? Who knows the best time to go???

One of our best hotel experiences
By ,
First and foremost - the staff. They seem to go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Most accomodating, as well. Since my husband and I were on a three-week jaunt around Ireland, we had a good bit of luggage. We decided to take a four-day break and go to Scotland. I asked if it were possible for the hotel to hold our excess luggage until our return - since we were planning on staying an additional four days after our trip to Scotland. Not only did they hold our luggage, they made sure we had the same room (since I had mentioned it was so nice). The food was exceptional; as was the service in the restaurant both during breakfast and dinner. The location is central (both for driving which we did during our first week-stay and then using the bus to go into Dublin or out to Tallaght. All in all, we would recommend it even higher than 5 stars - please share this with the staff if at all possible. they should be commended.
