St Patrick's Day @ It's Best!

The Hotel was wonderful. A bit out of the way from Dublin...Taxi Fares are a little high. The staff however went out of their way to make you feel at home. The fresh baked bread & fresh sweet butter is to die for. It was a great vacation & a perfect 45th Birthday...I will return.

Nice enough place
By ,
stayed here on business / vacation for a few days. the staff was excellent and always helpfull. although the room was tiny (in castle building) the condition and amenities were acceptable. several choices of places to get a drink or some food at the hotel. the town of dalkey is about a 10 min walk each way, with the return being all uphill and almost too much for some of the larger/older people in our party. dalkey has some good pubs and restuarants and a train stop that will get you into dublin in short enought time to not worry about it.

Loved it
By ,
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The staff was sofriendly. TGhe only bad point was the hours on the pool. It was very limiting for kids!!!! Our room was quite large though we had no view. It was located in near a wonderful village with a train station. We were able to drive along the coast also. The Dungeon resturuant was really good. The other one was pricey. I recommend eating breakfast out!

Yuk

Dislike- This is not a real castle but a cheep disney knock off. Stay some where else! The paint was peeling, the tub was constantly creaking as if it was to fall through the floor and the hot water went on and off.

disappointed

The publicity photos do not show the huge ugly modern building where most of the bedrooms are situated. The decor is tired and tatty, with dated bathrooms. The white plastic shower curtain was stained with unpleasant brown patches. On a positive note, the staff were excellent.

Can't wait to go back
By ,
The room was so big and spacious. It has a wonderful view of the town. I can't say one bad thing about the Fitzpatrick. It was a great place to stay and I would continue to stay at that hotel when I return to Ireland. Loved it :)
