Hotel Grande Bretagne, Athens stands across from Constitution Square, the House of Parliament, and the National Gardens and is approximately 16 miles from Athens Airport. Within one mile are the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Monastiraki Flea Market, Lycabetus Hill, the Parthenon, and the Royal Palace. It's also within short walking distance of exclusive shopping areas, restaurants, open-air cafes, museums, and the business district. The hotel has hosted countless heads of state and international celebrities. The GB Spa and Wellness Centre (including fitness center), as well as the indoor pool opened in the fall of 2003. And the Spring of 2004 brings the opening of the seasonal outdoor pool area and the pool bar. In addition, a hair salon, florist, snack bar, wine bar, and cigar lounge are on site. For dining, GB Corner serves Mediterranean in an elegant setting, GB Roof Garden is open seasonally for a romantic rooftop setting, and the elegant Winter Garden has live entertainment and is open until 2am everyday. Third time's a charm

My third time there, hadn't visited this hotel- and Greece since 2009. It was, perfect, once again. The restaurant that is on the ground floor- don't remember the name- has changed their menu, which I really enjoyed! My only complain was the staff, it seems that too few people are struggling with lots of tasks, which kinda made me nervous. Took my wife at the spa, it was heaven, everyone was so nice, dissapointed I couldn't find Anna(or Vicky) . My wife and I really enjoyed the Roof Garden, the view-and the menu is really worth the pricey fee. I will definitely be back, this time with the kids! Thank you so much.

Definitely going back!

This hotel was fabulous! I stayed in a junior suite. The bathroom was wonderful with a nice walk-in shower. I loved the location. The A95 Express bus from the airport to the hotel was only 3.20 euro each way and it stopped just across the street from the hotel. It took around an hour travel time, but I loved the price and the bus was not crowded and there was room for your luggage. They had a business center with free computer/internet access on the first floor. Indoor swimming pool/spa was very nice. The hotel was very convenient to many outdoor cafes, the acropolis, and the museum. All were in easy walking distance. The staff was very cordial and accommodating. The only negative was it was close to an area where many people like to hold demonstrations. At least one happened everday we were there, but you sort of get used to that after a while. I plan to take my family there with me the next time.

Great hotel, not so great staff

This hotel is beautiful and is in walking distance to almost everything. You can see the Acropolis from your room (if you get a balcony room) and the views are stunning. The first room we got was small and it had 2 twin beds making it one but it was our honeymoon and we complained. They gave us a big suite which was really nice. The spa is the best spa I have ever been to. I didnt eat at the restaurant because it was crazy expensive, like everything else in the hotel. My only complaint was the staff, they are very rude and not helpful at all. To me, it seems like they look down on you if you dot spend tons of money. In all, great hotel but they need better customer service.

the grandest of all

fabulous luxury property..The standard rooms are a bit small, but an oasis of calm refined luxury awaits. Use Starwood points to make this more affordable, the spa is also fabulous. Expensive, as expected.

This hotel is awesome. Can't wait to go back. Don't be fooled by the review that says there were cockroaches there (thats a lie). A lot of celebrities stay there so this hotel is very very clean.

great hotel,great location

Wow,What a hotel.Perfect location.Take the bus 95 from the airport.The bus drops you off right across the street from the hotel.It cost 3.50 Euros.Metro station basically outside the door.Try to get a room high and facing the square.You can see the Acropolis from room.McDonalds near hotel along with internet cafe next door of McDonalds.

In the Heart of Syntagme Square

This hotel is rich with history. With the clients it has served in the past, no wonder it is one of the top rated hotels in Athens. I found the service outstanding. A doorman greeted us and made sure our bags were brought up to our room. The employees who worked the check-in desk were very accommodating. I learn some basic Greek, but found most everyone spoke English. However, they really appreciated your efforts to speak their language. The rooms were average size. The second time I stayed, the room was a little smaller, but the bathrooms are awesome. Beautiful marble everywhere, and the tubs are HUGE. The hotel is located near the Plaka, the Parliment Building, and the Acropolis. The meat market and other areas are further on, but the transportation system is nearby - very handy. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant - GB Corner restaurant - I highly recommend it.
