Strand Palace Hotel, London

Excuse for my bad language ... I try to explane ..... I chose this hotel because I was glad to see sow service .... My best regards for personal off this hotel

The Strand Palace Hotel is a lovely little hotel located in the perfect spot, within walking distance of almost everything, including 4 tube stops. The rooms are a bit small, and so are the beds, but the are comfortable, and you dont need to spend much time in them in a city like London. The food at the continental breakfast is good quality, although a meal or two at the carvery might be a better start to the day. I would recommend going out to dinner and lunch, but desert at the hotel is very very good. The concierge is very friendly, and can help with anything, I'll stay there next time I'm in London for sure.

the location of the strand palace was awesome, we were so close to everything and we had three Tube stops near by...very close to all the great shops/restaurants, would definitely stay at again...

The Strand Palace Hotel is quite a beauty, location-wise. Situated on The Strand, directly across from the famed Savoy Hotel, the Strand Palace can't be beat for location. Nestled between 3 tube stops (Covent Garden, Charing Cross, and Embankment), you can get virtually anywhere in the city in Minutes. Covent Garden & West End theatres are a stone's throw away, as are the National Gallery & Trafalgar Square. The hotel itself is enormous (700+ rooms), the rooms are of a rather bland decor, but clean and neat. The hotel offers both Continental & Full English breakfasts in it's restaurants, as well as two popular late-nite bars. The concierge service is wonderful, offering up everything from theatre tickets (with good seats), to tube passes.

This hotel was amazing. The conceirge helped us pick tickets to a theater show which was great. The English breakfast was great and big. Will return!

My 4th stay at this hotel was in December 2004. This was the first time I've stayed in a standard single room and it was definitely not the one pictured on their brochure. Room was small, even tiny, but very clean, double glazing kept traffic noises silent even facing the Strand. Continental breakfast was cereal, juice, rolls, cheese, ham, coffee, tea and plentiful. Previous stays have been on the club room floor and rooms are very nice, worth the extra cost. The location is everything. You can walk to St. Paul's, the river, Somerset House, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, British Museum, all the theaters, Tate Modern, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Globe Theatre, even (if you're a walker) the Tower of London. Choice of restaurants in the area is staggering. Will definitely stay there again.

I got a good deal, three nights for the prize of two. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, except at the brasserie. We had to wait a long time for the bill and drinks. Location is very good, we walked to Oxford st. from the hotel. Our room on the first floor was not excactly what we expected, but it was okay. The view was terrible.

Poor front desk service, with that "you got and figure it out yourself" type of attidude. You have to pay extra to get a room with internet cable, and then be charged additionally for internet access -- definitely a double charging of 30 sterlings per night. You have to get your housekeeping when the lady comes. I called them at 4pm asking for housekeeping, and I was told the lady had already gone home, and they don't even provide cotton swabs. Poor room service menu too. oh, btw, if you are planning to check your suitcase, be prepared to pay 2 pounds per piece to an unfriendly hotel staff.

If you love the theatre and want to be in the heart of London, stay at the Strand Palace. The single rooms may be small, but they are larger than most rooms at a typical Bed and Breakfast. The service at the hotel is usually good. I have stayed at this hotel many times and would not stay there again. If you want a great location at a great price, stay it The Strand Palace.

tiny rooms, bad service from front desk and concierge. internet access was VERY expensive. Food and Drink at hotel restaurant was very good, but rather expensive.
