What a shabby and expensive hotel
We arrived at 3.30pm on a cold November afternoon, and had to keep our coats on in our room until the heating came on at 5.00pm - the manager said it was on timed and could not be changed! We had the Royal Suite, which cost 125 for the night, and the wallpaper was pealing off the walls, the four poster bed had somehow lost its curtains and had a bit of net curtaining draped around it. There was no light bulb in the bedside light, and all the furniture was a bit tatty. The bathroom was permanently cold, in need of updating, and we had to run a whole bath full from the hot tap before hot water actually appeared from the tap.
All in all it was a big disappointment for us, as my partner was asked if he would like our stay to be special with a four poster bed. The whole hotel has seen better days, with threadbare carpets and old decor.
For 125 we expected something a lot better, and definitely will not be returning.
