Very disappointing

We arrived and was allocated a pokey twin room on the top floor - we had made our reservation for a double room 6 months previously, we would NOT have booked if they could not meet our request. We were told by the manager this was only a 'wish' and they did not have to honour it (T&C confirmed this - I am now aware of this 'small print'). I argued the point that we had booked well in advance and we had arrived in the morning before other guests so there MUST be a double room. I stood my ground, stayed in reception and eventually we were given a very spacious double room on the 3rd floor - so there WAS one available. This was the start of our problems! After a full day walking in freezing weather we returned to find we couln't make a coffee as the dirty cups and glasses were still in the room and there were no coffee pods for the machine! We waited 90 mins and had to make 2 phone calls. On the next day we returned to the same situation PLUS an unmade room, full bins and dirty wet towels. At 4.30pm after a day out in sub zero temperatures we had to ring 3 times and wait 50 mins before we could have a shower and a drink!! On the 3rd day - low and behold the same situation. In my opinion there are not enough staff, the manager who was on duty was arrogant and unhelpful and this is definately NOT 5* service. Molton Brown toiletries - yes, thats the best thing about this place. I would NEVER recomend it!! EVER!
