WOW,I 'd go back!!
We had an awesome time in Paris-(July '06) and a lot of it was because of this beautiful hotel, its location, and very nice, polite, attentive employees. The lobby is pretty with marble columns, and there are 2 elevators.
My kids had a triple which was quite large, and had a large marble bath. I had requested a room with a view of the park but they didn't get the message from my web agent. Our room though was very nice, pretty and much more spacious than I expected for Europe. They let us know they were working hard to get us our view, and the second day, they moved us. Wow, it was heaven. The Eiffel tower, the park with a huge lit ferris wheel, and the Louve, as well as other pretty buildings from our balcony which ran the length of the room. Though it was not very deep, it was perfectly useful, and my whole family ended up out there. The room itself was spacious, lovely, and had a large bathroom with a separate shower, bath, and another room with a toilet and another sink- all marble.
ALSO, a huge added bonus- (total dumb luck) we got to watch the Tour de France from our room!! Now, I was the hero mom for the day. There was a very spirited parade in tbe street below us, then the riders circled the street 7 or 8 times. For some of these passes, we ran down to the street for a closeup view, then ran up to our balcony to look down for an awesome long view of the race...completely unforgettable...
The people on the street were jealous, and one man said I must have paid a fortune. He was from Luxembourg, and said some members of the royal house were also above on the baclonies...I'll tell you WE felt like royalty. We totally were into it, and bought an American flag to wave alongside all the other flags. My husband,(a cyclist)kids & I will never forget it. The carnival across the street was a blast, and very pretty to look at. The ferris wheel ride was amazing- we could look for miles across the city...tres romantic.
From this location, we walked easily to the Louve, the Seine, and lots of great shops (Chanel, Dolce & Gabanna etc..)& restaurants. The Arch d'Triumph is also not far. We took the Metro to other places, and the stop is close to the hotel.
I read above that breakfast was 8 euros- well maybe for the continental, but the (almost)full breakfast is 20, with hot items (eggs) an extra 4 or 5 euros.
I would without hesitation stay here again, and recommend this hotel. Thanks for reading all of this, and yeah, I have photos too....
