Club Med Chamonix, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Small dirty rooms. Unfriendly and unknowledgeable staff. Bad food. I spend one month a year in Chamonix and had been eager to stay at the Club Med. Never again. I've tried perhaps a half-dozen properties in the Chamonix valley from two-star B&Bs to the best hotels (Grand Hotel des Alps, Hotel Mont Blanc -- I haven't stayed at the Albert 1er, but that is next on the list). The Club Med is far and away the worst place I've booked. Not just the worst value for the dollar, but the very worst property. It is deficient in all categories -- rooms, cleanliness, staff, food, decor. It would be very hard to do worse.
