Chateau De La Chevre Dor, ÈZE

We were excited to visit this hotel because of a friend. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the view and the rocks on the outside of the building, which adds to the charm. Why Relais & Chateau has this as one of their hotels is beyond me. We used to look at R&C's hotel's as a good recommendation, but now will not. Upon arrival the staff was rude and continued throughout our stay & no it was not a difference in nationalities.The rooms look like someone took a can of bright pink paint & painted over the cheap furniture, the bedspreads are wron, dirty and have threads hanging off all over due to it being old and tattered. The furnishing are dirty and old drenced in pink paint. It is not worth the moeny or hype. They have a small balcony with a good view (so we hear) & we asked if we could go & take a picture, we were told "no", it was closed. We are traveling from the US & could not have escorted us up there to take a quick photo, as they knew how far we have traveled? Unbelievable, I would NEVER return there, ever. Save your money, stay somewhere else. Upon arrival we asked to eat in the dining room & were told no, because thry were closong in 10 minutes, as we could hear people talking, still eating in the dining room. We sat outside and ordered a club sandwich w/potato chips (x2), 1 beer and 1 water for $100.00 Amercan dollars.
