Snowy Serenity

The hotel is away from the centre of town, but Rovaniemi itself can be a bit bleak. This hotel, although being some distance from the town was worth the ride and when we arrived it was snow covered and serene and easy on the eye. You can still get to the tourist attractions, but it is so good not to stay in the thick of it for a change. Also the skiing there is good. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very quiet when we were there, with spectacular blizzards, and we stayed in one of the wooden cabins in the grounds. We had to take our suitcases to our cabin on the toboggans provided by the hotel, which was great fun for the children and adults alike. The walk to the hotel for the meals that we didn't want to prepare ourselves was good for the appetite and the food in the restaurant was super! The cabin itself was warm, clean, fully equipped, resin-scented, had its own sauna and a clothes dryer for soggy salopettes. There was no noise, no airoplanes and it was pure heaven. Can't wait to go back. I recommend it highly for the good of your soul.
