Hotel Mercure Brussels Center Louise, Brussels

This hotel is a complete embarrassment to the Holiday Inn chain. I am a Priority Club member, and I am used to well maintained hotels and great service. This hotel does not even come close to those standards. The rooms in this hotel are poorly maintained. The shower in my room did not work! The control that diverts water to the shower head was completely broken. I had to take a shower by filling plastic cups with water and pouring it over me! I complained, and they didn't seem to care. They said that the hotel was completely full, and I could not switch rooms. I asked if they could repair the shower, and they said no, it would require a complete overhaul that would take a few days. Now there's service for you! The room is poorly lit. The chairs and bed are very uncomfortable. The bed frame looks like it was built by a 7th grade carpentry student. It has screws improperly installed and are sticking out of the wood. The internet service is a complete joke. The WiFi Internet does not work. The wired Internet is through a cable modem, and when it works, it is very slow. I could not properly conduct business over my company VPN while staying here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, I think that Holiday Inn should drop them from the chain.
