Golden Tulip Regente, Rio de Janeiro

This is BY FAR the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at!!!!!!! The people at the front desk could not have been less helpful! Anytime I needed something I felt like I was inconveniencing them! I will say its not a bad view if you get a beach view room..however if you dont, be prepared to stare at nothing but a broken down building that blocks ALL sunlight! and if you happen to be in the back of the hotel, dont plan on sleeping. There is a nightclub downstairs and they play music all night. Staying at this hotel really took away from our experience in Rio. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

Location, location. location! This hotel is perfectly located with wonderful views of Copacabana beach. Make sure you pay the extra for an ocean front view it is worth the money as other rooms look onto walls at the back. The location is at the "better" end of Copacabana beach and within easy walking distance of Ipenma beach. It is also great to just walk across the street to the beach for a cocktail at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a very small pool area on the roof. What it lacks in space is made up for in the view!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The daily breakfast buffet was good and always well stocked. The pool is very small but not necessary- the beach is across the street! The staff will assist you in getting cabs,exchanging money and generally pointing you in the right direction. This hotel was perfect since we didnt spend much time in the room except to shower and sleep.

Hotel location is perfect across street from beach & nightly local bazaar. Employees are helpful and restaurant offers a large buffet breakfast. Be sure to ask for the "A" tower as those rooms have drawers in the closet (like on cruise ships). "B" tower has no dressers, drawers or shelves in which to put away clothes. Ok of you are staying less than 2 nights but frustrating for longer stays. There are no "view rooms" most will face a bldg wall. Rooms only have twin beds. We were with a group of 20 couples so were able to compare our room differences.
