Perfect Vacation Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/07
Our visit to El Pescador was as close to a perfect vacation as it gets. The accomodations were unique, clean, and comfortable. We stayed in a villa which had a fantastic kitchen, huge balcony (with a hammock), and the coolest tiled bathrooms! The food is served family style at dinner, which makes for always interesting conversation with people from all over the world, and is quite delicious. The place is owned and run by a family from the states that are about the nicest, most accomodating people I have ever met (and their kids are adorable!). There are 3 pools and phenomenal fishing and diving. Alonzo, the dive master, is the best I have ever dove with. If you want to eat "in town," there are a suprisingly high number of great quality restaurants for the size of the island. (the tapas at Casa Picasso was as good as, if not better then, any I have had stateside.) I will admit that it was a bit pricy, but the costs are more than made up for with the unique location and "non-touristy" feel to the island, e.g, there are very few cars and no paved roads but plenty of golf carts, bikes and water taxis. There really is not a lot to do on the island other than fish, dive, and relax. Definitely no putt-putt or waterslide parks. So if that is what you are looking for, perhaps this is not the place for you. I have never been to a vacation spot where I had absolutely no problems leaving the "real world" behind until I stayed at El Pescador. Trust me, it is that good. I will highly recommend El Pescador to anyone within ear shot for years to come!

No better deal in San Pedro
By Seasoned travelers, 11/28/05
We just finished a week at El Pescador. The property is very well maintained and the staff is genuinely eager to please. The family that owns the place works tirelessly to assure every visitor feels at home. From the time we stepped off the Tropic Air plane at San Pedro, someone from El Pescador was looking after us. Transit from air field to hotel was quick and efficient, one of the owners was on the dock when we arrived to guide us through check-in, and from then on, every single expectation was met. Alonzo is the dive master and provided us with 8 memorable dives where we saw dolphins, turtles, and, yes, shark. The reef is gorgeous and beyond words. Our entire experience was very positive. We're eager to go back.
