The Landings St. Lucia, Castries

I just got back form this hotel on 1/12/08. Lets just say that it was not that great. My room was ok but the lowest room they have watch out its gross and you have to walk so far to get the the resort. The people there were not pleasent at all. If i asked for more then two drinks they would roll their eyes. It was very annoying. No one wanted to do anything for you unless you gave them tips. As soon as the $20 start going everyone wants to be nice and help you, that was annoying to. The food was ok. The beach was ok to it was very rocky. The hotel overall is just kind of old. Im not saying that all sandals hotels are bad. I went to sandals in Negril...AMAZING. This was nothing compared to that. When you go be prepared to do nothing but complain! I'd go to another island where the people are a bit nicer!

My wife had some health problems on our honeymoon, so our experience was a little different than others. However, everyone we came in contact with was amazing! From the nurse, concierge, butlers, and even the manager. Everything they said they would do...........THEY DID!! Most hotels these days, you have to get someones name, and follow up to confirm, and even then you might not get what was promised. Even when we decided to cut our trip short and go home, they tried to make our experience as comfortable as possible. They arranged for free private transfers to the airport, AND gave us credit for the days that we pre-paid for and didn't use. Good luck getting that at any resort without "several days prior cancellation". I am a loyal Sandals customer for life. You can't put a price on top notch service.

We went to this resort in 2004 for our Wedding and honeymoon. I can not express how amazing everything was. We got there and our room was upgraded to an oceanview with a pool. We had booked a room with a private plunge pool, but view of gardens. With the upgrade, we were able to have 24 hour room service. We took advantage of the room service quite often. It was so nice to just eat on the balcony in your swimsuit and enjoy a beer or glass of wine. My mom was in St. Luica for our wedding too, but stayed at a different resort, and did not have the same quality that we did. She only had one resturant to choose from. We booked a trip for February of 2009 for our 5th anniversary. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here. The resort is in a poor country, and this resort is beautiful. I can't wait till we get there and can enjoy the beautiful resort again! This time we can relax the whole week instead of worrying about our actual wedding! Not that it wasn't relaxing back in 2004...just had to get everything organized for the wedding and all. Less than 3 months and we will be back :)

My husband and I went on our Honeymoon in May 2008. I will explain everything in Category. The Beach: I loved the beach. All female and male are fully clothed. That fit our morals well. The beach was private, turquoise, calm and sometimes wavy and we were never crowed when swimming in the ocean. It was also refreshing to see everyone in couples and in love. The food/restaurant: The food was good. We are not picky eaters and love fruit and vegetebals. We were satisfied with the food and restaurant. Le Piton was our favorite restaurant, we were surprised that it is not more busy. The room: Ok, this is the only bad experience we had. We are a young 26 year old couple so we are not rich and mommy and daddy didn't pay for us so we got the cheapest room. I suggest that if you are already paying 5000$ for a honeymoon go a get a better room. La Toc sandals's rooms are not the greatest. Thank goodness we were transfered to a better room that had air conditioning and no spiders in the bathtub. The pools: Yes, the pools with an "s". Sandals La toc has 3 pools. We loved the second pool. Most of the time we were alone in the second pool. The Golf course: Get ready to pay if you want to golf. Also it is not as green like they show in the pictures. That's about it. I feel like it was too expensive for what we got but if your rich go for it.

We loved everything about our holiday. Good food, clean rooms, very friendly staff throughout the resort. Entertainment was first class. Absolutely nothing to dislike. Our son was married at the resort in April this year, 2008, wedding was marvellous with no hitches whatsoever. Thanks to everyone at the Regency La Toc for a superb holiday.

My husband and I went to Sandals Regancy on our honeymoon and it was the trip of our lives! We are actually leaving in two days to go back for our two year anniversary and we can't wait! I don't understand the people with bad reviews about the food. That was one of the best things! We had a few things to eat that was some of the best food we had ever put in our mouths! The Italian place was great! (I can't remember the name.) I'm sure the places change their menus up from time to time though. The workers were very friendly. Whenever we would pass one they would ask us how our day was going and when we told them that it was great they would say, "If you are happy we are happy." They were always smiling. Just a couple of things we wish were different: Only some of the rooms had room service and that did not include the honeymoon suites. Also, most of the excursions were pretty expensive, especially after already paying so much for the trip. All in all though, it was wonderful! Why else would we go back?

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon the last week of August 2007. We are middle class U.S. citizens who rarely take vacations and work very hard-so it's hard not to please us when we actually take the time and money to go on vacation. NOT HERE!! The food is horrendous, the rooms are dirty and stay that way even when you stay for a week, and the staff is very unattentive and aloof. If you plan on eating anywhere besides the cafeteria/buffet style Pavilion by the pool you must make reservations or starve. The drinks are all watered down and use cheap liquor. We ate a lot at Arizona (just below our room #201) because it had the most American cuisine (and wasn't the pavillion-blech!) and it was ok. Cowboy Eddie is the greatest entertainment there and does his karaoke thing there a few nights out of the week. We got the ocean front 1 bdrm w/ balcony. Room was average size-balcony was nice but all balconies are blocked from seeing the ocean with trees. You do not want to pay extra for better rooms at this place. The aircon is shoddy, cement flooring in suites, horrible views (if any), ants everywhere,and maintenance always with the blowing of the leaves, branches, and grass early in the morning!! I can't even describe how bland and horrible the food is-just pray for fruit w/o flies rhumenating. La Toc was the best and if you can afford it-do the private candlelight dinner you can set up through the hotel. The decoration, privacy, and food is very nice. I splurged on the spa treatment and did the morning sea salt scrub and massage. It was ok, but the sea salt scrubbing irritated all the mosquitoe bites I acquired while vacationing there (real nice, huh?) I just feel bad that we didn't do our homework and relied upon the hotel brochures for objective information. Few bartenders are around, no pool towels available except one day out of six, and overall just a very high pricetag for so little. We will never spend our hard earned money with a Sandals Resort again. Beware-do not go-and definitely do not get married there!! We were considering getting married there, but after observing the weddings taking place there and talking with those that did get married there, they were very unhappy and were very disillusioned. Very very sad.

staff full of apathy and clearly catering for to many visitors,, we found often unable to book for some of the restaurants and on 1 occasion the main pavillion retaurant closed to guests due to a private party!!! cheek! mostly poor entertainment and if u fancy a steak cooked to your preference forget it! (arizonas restaurant). The most off-putting of all was the ants on the bread and bagels at lunch yak! the best option being omlettes or eggs(at least u know its fresh). unfortunatley not much to say on the positive front although on the whole the areas were kept clean and the pool was a treat. I certainley would not be keen to repeat the experience, if your want better value for money avoid Sandals st lucia!

My husband and I honeymooned at the Regency in November of 2007 over Thanksgiving week. As everyone will tell you, the ride to the hotel from the airport is a bit long, but we were fortunate enough to be in the van with only one other couple who we had met on the plane and ended up spending a lot of time with over the week. Our room was beautiful, an beachfront honeymoon deluxe that looked right out over the pool and the ocean with a balcony that was hidden by trees. The resort wasn't particularly busy while we there, which may have helped. The food wasn't anything special, Kimono's was awful if you actually like Japanese food, but we ate at Arizona a lot and on the last night finally tried Piton, which we wished we had tried sooner... amazing Caribbean food!! We chose this resort for the golf, but only played once and didn't even finish. VERY narrow, steep, and wet course with thick grass like nothing we have in New England. Day cruise to Soufriere was so much fun, as was snorkeling and the open jeep ride. I wouldn't call this a five star resort, but we had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. We will definitely be visiting another Sandals again, and if you do go to Saint Lucia make sure to order a BBC drink at the bar... you'll be hooked!

Everything was absolutely fabulous. The people, the food, the weather... We went for a week for our honeymoon and had the time of our lives. Cannot wait to get back !
