Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel and Casino San Juan, San Juan

As a person that travel throughout the region, from the Bahamas to Trinidad and Tobago, and the Centro American countries I have never seen such of lousy services from a hotel in the Island I consider my home. I was supposed to have brakefast included and the food was worse than a fast food restaurant, so we went to the other restaurant in the hotel, and the food was not visually palatable so we nave no choice than to walk next door to a Burger King for breakfast. At dinner, the tables had only paper napking and one fork, no knife, no spons and the waiter was slow as a turtle. The Buffet, was terrible. I think the ministry of turism needs to learn from other neighbors Islands in the region and improve the conditions in the hotels locally if the want to compite in the tourism industry.

Rooms Are dingy. Carpets stained. Lounge is so loud we couldn't drown out the sound in our room. Pool is dinky. Couldn't pay me to stay here again.

stay away. this hotel is run down, dirty, service is marginal. front desk agent was rude. walls are thin and we had a difficult time sleeping. will avoid radisson in the future. not a reliable chain.

We stayed here the night before and the night after our cruise. We were able to drop our luggage off at the hotel before check-in time. They kept it in a secured area for us while we explored San Juan. Upon checking in, we were pleasantly surprised when we were told we'd receive a free continental breakfast and also complimentary hors d'oeuvres in the evening! The room was clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful! The hotel is only one block from the ocean! You can take a bus for $.75 fare into Old San Juan. I'd definitely stay here again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an affordable place to stay in San Juan.

Room is lovely and spacious, but no view. Tacky casino. The power went off one night at 4am, and came back after 10am. We complained to the front desk manager who told us we were welcome to LEAVE. Fortunately, Expedia quickly booked us down the street, and we checked out three days early. Front desk manager unprofessional and sarcastic.

My husband and I stayed here for five days and six nights. The staff was very friendly and housekeeping was excellent! The room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the bed! It is a king and quite comfy! Great location. It is close to all of the great restaurants and stores on Ashford, and only two block walk to the beach! Our room was quiet and the staff was wonderful. The restaurant upstairs was quite lovely and delicious!! We had fun at the casino too. Overall, this is a great place to stay. It is clean, close to everything including the beach, for about a two block walk and quite economical!! Once again, staff was helpful and friendly and there was always taxis out front for longer excursions. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!! Excellent!

First time I've stayed in the caribbean without a view of the beach. The balcony in our room, overlooking the trash dumpster of the fast food restaurant, didn't quite do it at the Radisson. Rooftop pool was crowed with little kids, but from one corner there was a brief beach view. Bar was depressing. But then I find casinos depressing also. Spent a lot of time down the street at the Marriott pretending we lived there. Their patio was a great place to eat, drink, and view the ocean. And their breakfast buffet was also far superior. But then so was Starbuck's breakfast. Radisson's dinners didn't get good reviews from fellow travellers so we avoided them. Buy water, rum, etc. at the little grocery down the street. Walgreens is handy also to the right on Ashford, a street we learned quite well. Don't bother with Radisson's tour concierge. She only deals with Rich Sunshine Tours and they are different than Rico Sun Tours. We did wear comfortable hiking shoes on Rich's rain forest tour, fortunately. Our guide was great on politics, but evidently had never hiked the trail and his indication that this was a casual 1 1/2 hr. walk at a snail's pace, wasn't exactly what it was. But the waterfall was beautiful. Use the Mariott instead where the woman is quite knowledgable and told us about driving a rental car, the closing of the Ponce Art museum, and the folk dancing and jazz festivals down the street on FRiday and Sat. The Radisson staff appeared not to have a clue, even when we asked them specifically. Take a 75 cent bus to Old San Juan and avoid the Rich tour there. Take the free trollies around OSJ. Then take the 50 cent ferry to the Bacardi Rum factory, where a taxi to Bacardi will cost $3. Bacardi was the highlight of the trip. Although Frommers and the AAA book evidently didn't list this as a holiday weekend, it was. Four days in fact,which meant a lot of art museums were closed. Perhaps if I went back, rented a car, avoided the Radisson and their tour operator, and had a view of the beach I would feel differently. We did have great weather and if you only want rum and gambling this might be okay.

This is a good Hotel very well located, it is NOT oceanfront resort, you can walk 3 blocks to the beach but you won’t find any chairs or umbrellas, there is a BIG difference between the Suites and the rooms ,the rooms are not updated and they smell (located at the west side) the suites (east side) are very nice totally remodeled some come with a living room, microwave and a small refrigerator, don’t expect any ocean view, the ocean is blocked by the Condos in the area, the lobby is a corridor with a front desk. this hotel is ideal for the business traveler not for a family vacation

Most of the times that i visti the hotel is for the casino, love the service, they had always machines available and the people that work there are very gently.

Our stay was incredible!!!!!! My children 11yrs.,12yrs. and 1yr had a ball! Room service was excellent, hotel was very accomodating. Hotel staff was always ready for questions,giving suggestions for things to do in San Juan, any given time of the day or night. Location was excellent very close to the airport.
