Considering..
By ,
Considering the costs of hotels in Kingston, the Knutsford is a bargain, only if you plan to stay for a couple of nights. I've the stayed there twice, only because it's convienient. Both times, the carpeting in my room were absolutely filthy so much so, i never walked bare feet in the room; a big cockroach crawled across the table they provide for eating or whatever, the air conditioner was noisy and musty, the hallway carpeting was also filthy and musty, and the hallway ceiling was dripping water. Did I mention that you had to climb 3 flights of steps to and from your room? Take it for what it's worth; a little more than adequate, secure hotel to do business in Kingston, then check into a villa in Ocho Rios for the rest of your stay. Oh...the staff makes up for all the inadequacies, the food is good, a little pricey, but as I said, if you're just in Kingston to do business for a couple days, then this hotel will suffice. By the way, bring alcohol with you, because the bathrooms are a little dubious, especially the shower curtains.

A Decent Place to Stay
By ,
Hotels are priced a bit expensively in Jamaica, so for the price of $120.00 a night I got a decent surrounding to come back each night to lay my weary head. I stayed at Knutsford Court for 4 days in March 2008. The good points: 1) The staff at the front desk was wonderful and extremely helpful. 2) The garden is well kept. 3) The bed was comfortable. 4) The security staff is extremely polite and very helpful. Failures: 1) The towels in the bathroom showed signs of a lot of use. If there is ever such a thing for linens, they have definitely passed the date of expiration (LOL). 2) The walls are very thin. I could hear the neighbors and also the staff in the morning when they prep for cleaning. 3) The A/C unit in the room I stayed was way too loud. 4) The walk up 3 flights of stairs may be helpful for some, but not for everyone.

Nice Place
By ,
Well, I must say that the stay was good. Great location, great scenery (nice lawn, nice trees). The hotel overall was good and I think it is underated. For me and my boyfriend, the place was clean, nice room. I will definately stay there again and definately recommend. It is better than some of the other hotels in Kingston that is charging an arm and a leg. GREAT

This hotel's location is questionable, would not recommend walking outside at night. The front desk staff needs hospitality training.Restaurant staff okay. Continental breakfast was basic but adquate. Room had chipped tiles and dirty grout in bathroom, yellow stains on ceiling needs some maitainance. No work desk in room as advertised.Had to claib stairs not elevators. Would not stay here again.

good value, for the price.
By ,
It was a good experience, for what I paid for. The service was good from checking-in to checking-out. They do have gate security, the grounds are very well kept, the restaurant food was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. The rooms were good, room service was good. my only reservation was the continental breakfast, you'll see, but in thier defense you can pay for your standard cooked-to-order breakfast. Good job Yahoo travel, keep up the good work. My other friends who used different online reservation sites had to pay extra money, and had other issues, but yahoo came through.

Bad Experience
By ,
I checked into the Knutsford Court Hotel on October 9th, 2006 and was surprised to see that the hotel agent charged me an additional USD $ 736. My reservation was confirmed for USD $ 900. Upon arrival, I was notified of the taxes and that my new total would be $ 1,064. I had no problem with that and proceeded to give the agent my credit card. When he gave me the receipt, I noticed that my card was charged a total of USD $ 1,800. When I inquired why I was charged an additional USD $ 736, he told me that the extra charge was for incidentals. Of course this made absoulutely no sense at all. I informed him that I have never heard of incidentals being charged for more than USD $ 150. He said that it was the policy of Knutsford Court Hotel. I cancelled my reservation and was told that they would hold onto my funds for two business days. I would strongly recommend that no one stays at this hotel. I went to the Hilton instead.

What a Memorable Experience!
By ,
This was the first Jamaican hotel I have been to and probably the best because I have heard that the others aren't very clean and you don't get your money's worth. This is rated as a two star hotel but it is actually a 4 star hotel. Great staff, nice pool, great accomadations including the room, air conditioning and internet service. The biggest rooms can generally fit 4 people on 2 beds and an optional cot if asked for. The only problem with the optional cot was that it took about 3 or 4 days for the hotel to get one for the extra person in my room. This was the only real problem. The maintenance team was very quick in responding to problems we had with our room and there only were a few problems. They also have a free continental breakfast every morning when we went in may / june 2006 which was great. I would do it again in a heart beat.
