2 star hotel w/ a 5 star view
By ,
I went here as my relaxing day on a Mission trip and we were informed of the unpleasantness. It's not as bad as I thought (Although I had been living in bunks w/ little water and being dirty all the time.) Definitely do not go here on a Honeymoon. Probably the only reason you want to come here is the price, the beautiful views and the location. You can go scuba diving/snorkeling here and also Dunns River Falls is close by which is awesome. The market is down the street (Do NOT go in the market for the locals, u will regret it, just go in the touristy one where u can bargain for prices.

I would not go back to the hotel resort.
By ,
The area where you ordered food was not kept up and the people working around the eating area was not presenable. They also clean the sand on the beachwhen the kitchen was not open after breakfast. Not very happy people are pleasant they had people that look like they were men that did not have a place to live and at night came their to sleep.. Curtain in the rooms were in very bad shape several people that was there complain about the resort. It was not what was present on the internet. Acafe was next door where men and women would drink and talk loud not kept up in their appearence. I would not reccomend the hotel to any one else to stay very cheap place to live.

Wonderful Location
By ,
We totally enjoyed being close to the heart of Ocho Rios. Being able to experience the Jamaican culture; the people, the colors, the food. It was wonderful. We found many little restaurants that allowed us to really enjoy truly authenic Jamaican cuisine. The hotel is not the Four Seasons, or the Ritz, but the rooms are spacious and clean with a balcony and located right on the water. Absolutely breathtaking.

DON'T GO THERE!!!! YOU WILL RGRET IT!!!
By ,
My husband and I booked this hotel for one week. We were looking forward to having a relaxing tie there, but we was in for a big disappointment. The staff was friendly, that is a plus for them. The room was ugly and uninviting, so unattractive. The sheets were dirty and actually smelled dirty. We noticed what appears to be "discharge" on one of the blankets. My skin actually crawls. The mat was ald and dirty and the skirting on both beds were dirty and torn at the edges. The pillows were dirty and smelled foul, the pillow cases were very old and worn. I had to use my towel (thank God we brought our own) on the pillows at nights. There was no light in the ceiling nly from two bedside lamps. The dresser and counter tops were dusty and dirty. There was no remote for the TV. We had to get out of bed to change the channels, there was no antennea and the TV was not showing properly so we could watch only a few channels. Most devastating was the bathroom, the toilet had flies in it, the basin looked dirty and filthy like it needed a good wash. The tiles around the toilet were black with dirt. There was an old dirty shower curtain at the shower and it was obviously dirty, soap scum was evident on it. When I stepped in the shower I slid and almost fell. It was then I realised that the shower was dirty as well. The following day I went out and got dettol, lysol and a bath mat. Ihe first night my husband used the toilet and the following day he had lots of bumps and itching to the back of his leg. The towels were so old and worn and discoloured. If I could have gotten a refund I wouldn't have spent twenty minutes there. I stayed away from there as much as I can, I leave early mornings and go back late nights just to shower and sleep. On the third night there was no light in the bathroom. We reported it when we were leaving the morning and we returned later that day to find it had not been repaired, we had to report it again. For me this is a first and last stay at this hotel. The rooms need proper cleaning, the walls need painting, and the picture frames which are falling off the wall need to be fixed. SILVER SEAS YOU NEED TO SHAPE UP.

Bad Service
By ,
The Silver Seas Hotel has an attractive location set right on the the Caribbean Sea and close to many shops and restaurants in Ocho Rios. While there is no sand beach, there is a sunning area, dock, and swimming area right outside the hotel. There is also some nice landscaping and the eating area has cute wrought iron tables and chairs. In contrast to the outer areas, the rooms are in bad condition. The furniture is dated and dirty. The tub had stains on it. One bed is smaller than the other one. Half of the air conditioning unit had turned into rust, and it was awkwardly fitted into a hole in the wall that wasn't even sealed. Finally, the service was very bad. They are not very friendly when you check in. When I tried to get a third towel in the morning around 8:00 AM, I was told that this was impossible because the maids had not come in and they were the only ones able to get the towels out of the laundry room. The woman working the front desk told me it was my fault for not requesting an extra towel the night before. I asked to see the manager, and she said she was one of the managers, so I was confused as to why she did not have any access to the towels. After arguing with her for about ten minutes, and then sitting in the lobby for another ten minutes, I was finally able to get a towel. And this was after paying an extra $40 for having a third person in the room. This experience, right before I was checking out, soured the whole stay. I would not recommend this place on account of the poorly maintained rooms and the rude staff.

I don,t think so
By ,
The view from my balcony was amazing, the beautiful trees, plants, flowers and oh my goodness the sea was almost right under your balcony, just a beautiful view. The hotel room was not up to my standards (no telephone, no clock, tv stations not clear, bathtub and shower need refurbishing, floor rug in bed area was dirty, bitten by little tiny ants, vertical blinds were missing panels, some lite bulbs needed replacing...and this was the second room. The first room was the pits. Staff was helpful.

It's a great value....
By ,
We liked this place where we stayed for one week. The service is not expectionnal, but at least the room are clean. All the rooms are facing the ocean, which is so great. The hotel has got a nice pool and a private beach with water sport activities. The hotel is not really in a good area but at least you can understand better how people live there ( and that was one our goal by visiting jamaica )
