Clean, great staff, wonderful location.
By ,
Stayed between Christmas and New Years and it was lovely. Even though they didn't accommodate us to the the adjoining rooms we wanted, the staff was very nice and did everything the could. We got rooms with one room in between so it wasn't bad. Both of the rooms were very clean with the best views of the ocean. This hotel is just a 5 - 10 minute drive from downtown and there's always a taxi waiting for you. The pool is a fair size and very clean. But who needs a big pool when the ocean is right next to it! The only improvement they need would be the food. We had breakfast and lunch there. The food was band and could be better. Overall, a great hotel for families. Will definitely be going back.

Fantastic staff, and clean rooms
By ,
Staff was wonderful, maid service 2 times a day rooms kept very clean, very well kept hotel grounds, Breakfast and lunch great, but dinner became very boring after a few night's eating there, only 2 menu's to pick from Italian or Mexican with only 12 items to choose from. No night entertainment (would of been nice)

Beautiful hotel!
By ,
All the rooms have great views of the mountains, pool area, city lights, and a great view of the ocean. Not often you get a view with all that in it from your room. Service and food were excellent. Room was very nice with all the amenities you would see at Four Seasons. Beach at hotel was very nice, calm waves. Pool was nice, wish it was deeper than 4 feet and its not designed very well, but was refreshing. Hotel not crowded at all, at least when we went. Very few tourists there from the US. I think it was Mexican Holiday or something. I would definitly stay there again. Great location in walking distance to grocery stores, bus lines, restaurants. The restaurants at hotel were very nice but too pricey for Mexico. They gouge the tourists there for sure. Breakfast outdoor buffet nice, but $40 USD for two people? Plus flys crawling on some of the fruit was unappetizing. Went to the Burger King nearby one morning to save $$. Rained almost every night, big storms, but clear and sunny the next day. Lots to do in PV, great family destination.

Will never go back
By ,
Stayed in this place a couple of years ago and had a gret time, it was a good value and decided to come back. Came back last year and the experience was the opposite. Long waits for poor quality food, poor room service, incredible overcrowded. The hotel was hosting some kind of convention and had obviously overbooked. There were hundreds of people crowding the pool and one person was even bragging about having 10 people in the same room! Not to mention that the cost of the room and food prices more that double in two years.

Nice Place
By ,
Ours was a family vacation at Spring Break time. The hotel is centrally located about half way between the airport and downtown. It's an older hotel but exceptionally clean and well maintained. The food is ok. They have a very good breakfast buffet. Lunch was only average, and we never ate dinner there though they appeared to have a nice buffet set up each night. The pool and beach area is very nice. Much of the sand is very coarse and rough on your feet until you get right down by the water,so this discouraged walks on the beach. Within walking distance of the hotel are a large grocery store (Gigante- think super Walmart or Meijer's) a small internet cafe/deli, and a handful of 'American' fast food places (KFC, Pizza hut, Burger King,Chili's). Warning, when we tried the KFC, it had a different menu from those back home, and we struggled with the language barrier when ordering (by contrast, most of the service folks at the hotels do speak english). One final note, this hotel had a very diverse clientele, which we liked. It appeared to be a preferred place for affluent Mexican families. We toured the Westin later that week which appeared to be almost exclusively American tourists.

Missing Gifts
By ,
Everything was fine, what you would expect. Not over the top like Moon Palace in Cancun or the resorts on Cabo. More like a Raddison. I went in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The rate was cheap. We both had round trip and transfers from ATL, maybe 5/6 days for around 800 bucks plus junk fees. :( bad thing was coming back from a day out, some toy gifts for our boys were gone from our room. I hope they went to a needy child..

Perfect!!!
By ,
This hotel really captures the true beauty of Puerto Vallarta. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. Upon arrival it looks like a piece of paradise. I chose Fiesta Americana because it looked tropical and less commercialized. I was correct in my assumption. Not only was it beautiful, but the hotel was spotless. The staff was constantly cleaning around the resort. The service was impeccable and guest satisfaction ruled the day. My trip was in May 2007 and since it was considered the off season, the rates were very good. My room was on the 7th floor with an amazing ocean view. The recent renovations were noticeable and the decor of the room was very nice. No ugly tropical drapes or bedspread. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my room matched the picture on the internet. The only thing that I found not as satisfactory was the food. The resort food was expensive and not that good. However, the guacamole, salsa and chips from the poolside snack bar made up for that tenfold. For a mere $4.50 you get a generous helping of each and it makes for a great afternoon snack. Overall I would recommend this hotel to all my friends! It was very relaxful. Some families, but not over the top kids. I'm even planning a return trip very soon in January 2008.

It was not a 4 star hotel -
By ,
I felt that Fiesta Americana was just okay. I felt the customer service at the front desk was very weak. The Front Desk Clerks for the most part were not personable and welcoming. My boyfriend and I (two black gay men) stayed there from May 24 - 29 and we both thought it was not an inviting experience. One of the male front desk clerks made a comment in Spanish about us wanting a king size bed and laughed. He thought we cannot understand Spanish. The restaurant was over priced. The rooms were okay but more like 3 stars not 4 stars

All around great hotel. The only problems is that you need to book it almost a year in advance. It is very popular and rooms book fast

Fiesta Americana:Review
By ,
We just went to Puerto Vallarta for vacation last summer. I thought that the Fiesta Americana was a great hotel because of the hospitality and the great atmosphere that you get from the people and tourists around the hotel. I give it a five out of five.
