absolute dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/09
this place is false advertising at its worse. hairs in the tub, broken coffee machine, no desk in the room, and staff that can't fulfill simple requests. stay away! the most erratic, noisy and uneven heating system ever.

Great hotels, but a few major flaws
By Fiona, 10/08/08
Walper Terrace is kind of neat in that it's really old and historical and definitely has that feel. The downside of this is that it seemed really old and in dire need of an update. It's hard to compare it to more modern hotels, so I can overlook the older furniture and decor, but there were a couple of major problems. It was a cold night so we needed the radiators on... and they were VERY loud to the point that we couldn't sleep. The temp gauge was broken on one, which they did send someone up to fix, but this sort of thing would be working. Also, hairdryer in the bath room didn't work which is not the end of the world, but is sloppy service. A couple of pluses to the hotel is that it's good value - we paid $10 extra from the base rate to get a junior suite which was a great size. Also, pub and restaurant downstairs are nice. Service was also very friendly. I wouldn't stay there again in the fall/winter because of the heaters, but I'd be likely to go back in the spring/summer timeframe.

Very nicely done
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
An older building totally renovated while keeping its charm and warm athmosphere. We rented 2 rooms and they were nicely furnished as well as very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had supper at the small bar downstairs and again food and service was excellent.

Beautiful Historic Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/05
This Hotel is over 100 years old. They have done an excellent job undating the hotel with such amentities as Wireless High Speed, while still preserving the details and service of a Historic Hotel. All that for about $100 a night including breakfast, valet parking and a wonderful, huge, well appointed room. I will definetly go back.
