BEWARE! DISHONEST HOTEL! THIEVES!
By ,
Wallet went missing from a night-table drawer of the room. Hotel staff had friends within the room and was very defensive when presented with the situation. Did absolutely nothing to investigate the matter but instead offered denials! Never did find the wallet which was in the drawer of a night-table! Beware! Choose other options! Management have very poor customer service skills - not very responsive nor cared to deal with the matter. we were given the run-around when asked for telephone numbers of the gm, owners, etc. Fiiisshhhhyyyy - definitely an inside job! Hilton, Marriott, Fallsview , Double Tree Hotels, all excellent options! If you want to safeguard your belongings and want to deal with an honest and caring staff and hospitality expected from a major hotel you won't find it here! STAY AWAY!

Would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone
By ,
Accomodations were not as promised even though I had a confirmation. staff was unfriendly and not helpful including supervisors/magers. Did not deserve a 4 or 5 diamond AAA rating. No drawer space in Junior suite. Concierge was not helpful if not booking a tour thru them. Promised a refund on 2 rooms that did not meet required accomodations and did not receive it even though booked thru AAA. Under major construction that was not posted on website. Valet parking was a nightmare due to construction. Worts experience we ever had at a highly rated AAA hotel. Never again and we booked 3 rooms!

Don't Ever Visit This Hotel!!!
By ,
Charged extra $20 for the magazines we didn't read. Room not clean; with unwanted spiders and insects. The ice machines were broken. Never come here. Consider the Fallsview Casino across the Street.

Would recommend this hotel
By ,
I truly liked our stay here. The room was VERY clean. The rooms are older but the main areas are nice & very modern. We purchased a package that included attraction tickets & full breakfast for 2 days & dinner for 1 day for 2 people. Yes, the parking is $10 u.s. but you will find that parking all around the area is between $10-$20. I liked the fact you self park & you can park right at the hotel. They also have security outside of the hotel. The area around the hotel is safe both during the ay & at night. The hotel staff was very nice & helpful. Having 2 stores right on the property makes it very handy. There were many families with children, which often means a very noisy time but we never had any problems with noise. This is both a family & couple friendly hotel. Very reasonable packages that make it well worth the visit. I will be going back again.

Don't Go There, Horrible!!!
By ,
One of the worst experiences I ever had with a hotel. First of all I found that there is no self parking, that there is only valet parking and it is $20 a day where everywhere else it is either free or $5-$10 no matter how days you are there. Next the hotel itself had that cheap motel, the hourly ones, stirring around the hallways as well as the room. The pool was filthy and filter was not even on. We were told that is filter wasn’t on because it was cycling itself, what pool filter cycles itself. There was no hot water for the shower. Then the next morning, real early, the fire alarm goes off, not because there is a fire or smoke but because the smoke detector is full of water. It then fell off the ceiling and a waterfall of water was coming from where the detector was. I then went to talk to the front desk, because I was not staying another night. After explaining the situation to them all they wanted to know is when are we leaving to eat breakfast so they can fix the room, I said with water coming out of the ceiling like that there is no way they can fix it for us to sleep in the same room again. I told them that I am not staying another night, so they wanted to charge me for the next night. I told them I wanted to speak to a manager, the person went into the back room and came out alone with no manager and told me the manager said they will not charge for the next night, but I wanted to talk to a manager, so I had to tell the person to go back into the room and tell the manager to come out here. HORRIBLE costumer service!! It was like they did not want to hear nor do anything to fix the problem, I ADVISE YOU NOT TO GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!

Stay Away from FallsView Plaza
By ,
Absolutely the most horrible hotel stay I've ever had!! My boyfriend and I booked 2 nights at this hotel, but could only stand to stay here for 1 night. Upon our arrival, I was shocked to find that there is no self-parking available. This hotel only has a valet service for which they charge $20 per day!! I'm sorry but I'm just not comfortable giving my car keys to someone I don't know and having to pay for it. Second, the pool and jacuzzi were filthy!! The filter for the pool was not operating and i could see trash floating in the pool. Since there was no one in the water at the time, I just assumed that maybe they only turn on the filter if someone enters the pool area. I then asked a receptionist why wasn't the filter on, and after he checked on it, was told "well, maybe the filter is re-cycling itself". Hmm. I've never heard such a thing before and not only do I personally own a pool for my home, but I've been to a few pools before so I know that filters are either on or off. Maybe the filter was broken and he just didn't want to tell me. Either way, I'm letting you know there is a problem with the pool - so do your job and fix it! There was a lot of construction going on at this hotel that I was not told about. There was no mention of it on the website or when I booked the room over the phone. Only when I got the room and looked out the window and saw a few cranes was I made aware. Since no one was operating the cranes at the time, it didn't bother me so much then, but the next morning at 7 am, after a long night out, I was woken up by extremely loud jackhammering. Not at all what I expected on my vacation! To make matters worse, shortly after being woken up by construction noises, the smoke detector above the bed suddenly went off scaring me half to death. After running around the floor in our underwear, we realized that only our room had the smoke detector going off and there was in fact no fire. We went back to room and expected the alarm to stop, but it wouldn't. So my boyfriend jumped on top of the bed and pulled the smoke detector down from the ceiling in order to remove he battery. As he did so, water started pouring from the ceiling and leaked all over the bed and now we realized just why only OUR room's detector went off. There was a leak from the pipes in the ceiling that interfered with the electrical components in the smoke detector unit. To add insult to injury, when we called up the front desk and informed them of the massive leak, we were told maintenance crews would fix the problem while we ate out breakfast. Umm...hello? Shouldn't you offer us another room? Am I expecting too much here? I think not! Now at 8:10 am, on my vacation, I packed my bags and went to the front desk to check out. I told the receptionist how unhappy I was with everything and she told me, "Fine. You can check out now, but you will still be charged for a 2 night stay." What?! After this, we asked for a manager. She returned after a few minutes alone, and said "OK. We won't charge you for the second night. Do you still need the manager?" I just started laughing at her. Overall, VERY unprofessional service, unclean and unsanitary pool with garbage floating in it, $20 per night valet parking, and very noisy construction. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!

Very Poor Customer Service
By ,
First thing we show up and they tell us its Valet parking only and you have to pay $20 a day or park somewhere else and walk back. Then our room was switched from what we booked, from a king bed no smoking to 2 doubles and on a smoking floor, but they did spray airfreshener in the room. I was told they would take off $50 for the mistake which was ok until I checked out and they said no we are not giving you anything off the cost and that it was never said. I would not go back here no matter what the deal.

what an ordeal..never again
By ,
We booked the hotel on Aug 1st 2008 for a reasonable price. To our disappointment the city view is more of a contruction site view. The window is dirty and carpet is spotty. That is not a begin of the ordeal yet. Upon return from the Falls around 10:30pm the hotel fire alarm went off and all guests were not allowed in until around 11:00pm. We went up to our room and as soon as we tried to sleep the alarm went off again. My wife (7 months prenant) and I (carried my 2 years old) walking all the way from 12 floor(we asked for high floor hoping for a good view). For the safety of our family we checked out and asked for a refund but the hotel manager refused unprofessionally. Many guests checked out that night and no one get a refund. Even without the fire alarm, the hotel still below average for that price. However, valet service and location are good though.

Location is its best feature
By ,
- It was hard to understand the 4 star rating. Seemed more like 3 stars. - However, it was clean and its best feature is its location: is a very quick walk to the falls or to the funicular. - The front desk staff were incapable of clearly explaining the "$50 breakfast and dinner deal" that they were promoting. - The breakfast buffet is awful and overpriced. The signage saying "$9.99 all you can eat" is misleading since it doesn't include beverages. So for an additional $3.50 you can get coffee or tea, etc, which most people take with their breakfast. In addition, the selection was minimalist and the food sub-par. - We paid extra to get a "falls view". On the 10th floor, the view consisted of a very small patch of the top corner of the falls. Save your money and spend it on a local attraction. - Note to hotel management: the elevators are completely inadequate for the guest capacity.
