5 reviews for Days Inn Thermopolis, Thermopolis
its become a tradition
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/09
we love thermopalis and the days inn.we go a few times a year. it is the kinda place where you can spend quality time with your family. it is a nice quiet town with little traffic and awesome, polite people. the days inn is not fancy but it is very comfortable and queit with plenty to do. we love sitting in the hot tub , the arcade is fun. the rooms are clean . we absolutely love the safari room!!!! my kids watch the deer come up to the window and feed. the food is really really yummy. so thermop is the kind of place to go if you want rest relaxation and quality family fun time. the star plunge is wonderful and so is walking by the river and the mini golf . two thumbs up.

Not a horrible place, Not great either
By DANA, 09/21/08
Hotel is old but the rooms were clean. They pipe the mineral water into the jacuzzi/pool which is nice. One of our beds was broken - but they did give us a discount on our bill at checkout. No continental breakfast and the restaurant was pricey. Convenient to the hot springs and to the dinosaur center. Staff was friendly and helpful at check in. NO ELEVATOR - if you can't walk up stairs make sure you don't get a second floor room. Of the places in thermopolis to stay - this is probably one of the better ones.

Don't trust reservations!
By LB, 04/20/06
Reservations were made since accomodation necessities explained were available there. Upon arrival, clerk was unable to answer questions because she was new. Found the room not where supposed to be for easy handicapped accessibility, as requested when made the reservations! Extra pillows ordered never arrived. Room was in a very noisy area with an inner courtyard access door, plus a door to a hallway right next to an outside access door that did not readily open with a reader key, thumped as being tried to be opened, and banged every time closed. Previous overniters coffee and grounds still in coffee maker, table not cleaned and wood surfaces dusty. Heater did work fine. Talked to manager when checking out- discounted room rate offered for group function was not available, filled her in on room problems and received apology plus the info that the place was due for restructuring and was going to become even less handicapped friendly. We will not return. Way overpriced for value received and inconvenience involved. Why has Holiday Inn quit being user friendly???

Had a Blast!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/06
The Holiday Inn located in Thermopolis is a delightful little find. Guest services were outstanding--Sue, the front desk guru, was extremely helpful and warm. Our room was poolside which was just a short "jog" to the greatest hot mineral tub. We visited with tons of people in the hot tub and made new friends. There is a bar phone and the lounge will deliver alcholic and non-alcholic drinks to you. We had an excellent steak dinner and enjoyed the big screen t.v. in the lounge. There was a small gameroom for the kids and the BIG pools are in walking distance. The wildlife display is awesome and extremely well done. We will definitely be visiting again.

Over priced, good location, tacky
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/05
We've stayed here several times during the off season until they upped the rates beyond reason ($85-125.per night). We took advantage of the 2 day "Hot water holiday" that came with a prime rib dinner in the restaurant plus a bottle of (cheap) champagne. We liked to stay here with our children plus our well behaved dog. We used to get the King bed and have the children camp on the floor. The other rooms only have double beds that are way too small for my husband and I so now we get an extra room for the kids (that are teenagers now). Unfortunately the value isn't what it used to be espescially since we need 2 rooms. The hot water holiday is $400. for 2 rooms, 2 nights. The rooms are past their prime, could be cleaner and some upgrades are needed , especially carpeting and bed spreads etc. As a resident of Jackson Hole I'm spoiled re: restaurants. The prime rib dinner is hard to mess up. The salad bar has very little "fresh" looking produce (ice berg lettuce)the kids menue is marginal but okay for the little ones but not for 10 and older. If you're offended by senseless trophy hunting, stay clear of this motel because the hallway, lobby and restaurant are packed with hunting photos (dead animals) and big game mounts from around the world. Very interesting if you're a hunter. The best feature going for this place is that the L shaped back of the building faces a court yard with the pool (closed in the offseason) and the med large mineral pool that is in the trees and along the river where there is a nice bike path that goes around the Hot Springs Park. The lower level rooms open into the hall or out to the park (sunny) side. This is very nice for the kids and dog and parents that can keep an eye on everyone from the room or the hot pot. We stayed at the newer Plaza Hotel (A Best Western also in the park) while in between dogs (They don't allow dogs- a Hotel setting). We got a 2 room suite for the same price or less than one room at the Holiday Inn. It had two rooms with two Tvs and a king bed in one room and a queen hide abed with kitchenette in the other. The rooms are tastefull: high ceilings, traditional heavy moldings and doors, a very nice bathroom. Rooms open to a court yard and a swimming pool (summer) and a small hot pot that unfortunately doesn't face the river or the sun (in Feb) so is more confining feeling. Plaza also has a Very nice continental complimentry breakfast in a sunny dining area. Excellent service, clean and comfortable for half the price of the Holiday Inn but if you have a dog the Holiday Inn is a good base for a visit to the hot springs.
