never again!! what a rip off!!!
By dizzybell, 08/20/09
We ask for two smoking rooms, i told the lady at the desk that we needed at least 1 smoking room, I thought my room was a smoking room because I did not see any signs and it smelled like smoke when i walked in,but we didn't have an ash tray, so the next day I went down to get an ash tray and she said that is a no smoking room, she never said anything eles about it, but when we returned from vacation we had a bill in the mail where they had taken 100 dollars for each room for smoke damage!! the room had already been smoked in before us! Not to mention the pool was a baby pool only 3 foot deep, no free breakfast, I got stuck in the elevator for about a half hour and the staff was rude, trust me and do not stay here!! way to much money for a room like this anyway!!

Not worth the money....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/09
Despite being told check-in was at 3:00 when we arrived (after 3:00) our room wasn't ready and we were forced to wait. If you could stand the "sewage" smell of the water their "Castaway Bay" is great for the kids. Staff extremely rude. We honestly checked in with pets (informed upon reservation and check-in) only to be accused by the front desk later of sneaking six pets up to our room (which we only had the two we informed them of). Apparently someone in housekeeping decided to lie about how many pets we had. No pet policy had been shown or discussed and despite the fact that we never left the hotel premises the front desk threatened to call the humane society to pick up our animals if we left them unattended in the room again. Understood but would have been nice to know in the first place. We were also reported for having a "ferocious" dog in our room..... our Bassett Hound might lick on you for a while but I don't think he could be ferocious if he wanted. One of the staff members jumped on an elevator with us and insisted on stopping on every floor (from the fourth) and held the foot with his door each time to check for maid carts in the hall (which were littered all through the hallways). Good customer service would have let us have the elevator and go down (especially after my husband even said something to the guy). We were the only patrons dining in the restaurant (which was pretty pricey) yet service was pretty slow and the waitress was so lazy that she opted to just leave a pitcher of soda on the table rather than have to actually refill it herself. Will not be staying here again and odds are this particular location has ruined us staying at any other Best Westerns.

Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/08
Due to a change in travel plans we spent the night in Casper, Wyoming last Friday night (September 26th, 2008). Because this was a last minute change in our plans we didn’t have time to spend looking around for a motel, but we thought we should be safe staying at a Best Western. As it turns out, we were sorely mistaken. Our room at the Best Western Ramkota was absolutely disgusting. The filthy carpets and awful smell in the hallways should have been an indication of what our room would be like. I could easily have overlooked the filth in the hallway if our room had been decent, but it wasn’t. When I walked into the room I was met by a musty smell coming from the bathroom. After turning on the light in the bathroom and waiting for it to reach full flicker, I could see the source of the smell. There was mold in the grout of the shower and around the baseboards. The floor looked like it had only been quickly wiped down because there was a thick accumulation of dust and grime in the corners. The exhaust fan in the ceiling was almost plugged with dust. There was hair and other dirt on the ceiling that made it look like it had been wiped with a dirty rag. The towels hanging on the bent towel rack were worn and stained. The sink didn’t drain properly and the shower/tub hardly drained at all. After a quick shower the water was more than ankle deep. The doorknob on the bathroom door was loose. The flourescent light in the bathroom flickered horribly. The rest of the room wasn’t any better. The curtains had been torn loose on both ends and wouldn’t cover the window properly. They also had what appeared to be cigarette burns in them. It was obvious from the dust bunnies and other garbage on the floor that the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed around the edges or under any furniture. The wallpaper near the bathroom door had been torn off the wall and slapped back on. The safety latch on the door to the hallway was broken off and the door was damaged where the latch should have been. The ottoman was broken. Although I didn’t dare look too closely at the sheets for fear of what I might find, they had obviously seen better days. Before booking our room I did have time to read a few reviews on the internet. There were some negative reviews, but because I also saw that the hotel had recently been remodeled, I thought that maybe things had changed. Wrong!!! From the condition of our room I’m guessing it may have been given new carpet and wallpaper, but the previous filth hadn’t been removed and the grime that had accumulated since the “remodel” hadn’t been taken care of either. It was obvious that the room hadn't had more than a superficial cleaning for a very long time. The only “courtesy” offered by the hotel was a complimentary newspaper in the morning. However, it didn’t seem very courteous to be woken up early in the morning by the loud thump of the newspapers being thrown at each of the doors along the hallway. Rooms like this are the reason for avoiding low-budget motels. However, even when I have had to stay at a budget motel, I've never seen anything like this. This was the last night of a ten day road trip through the Midwest and this was by far the most expensive and most disgusting place we stayed. In fact, this is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my life. For what we paid I think we were entitled to accommodations that were at least clean, if nothing else. I will avoid this place at all costs and encourage everyone I know to do the same.

First and Last time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/08
The room had a upsetting smell. The sheets were not changed, we stayed three nights. Someone stood in the tub to wash the walls I guess and left dirty foot prints in the tub. Sorry! For $107 + tax, I will not go there again.

Absolutely the Worst Place I have ever stayed at
By NXTCBLUE, 04/19/08
Staff needs to understand what "customer service" is. I arrived late from Houston, Texas, from a long day of meetings and travel. I informed the reservationist that I would be late and arrived about midnite. Upon checkin, the desk clerk was rude and informed me that the bank my credit card came on was the worst bank from her prior experience. She never smiled. I also thought I was getting a special corporate rate of $75 only to hear another customer checking in paying only $59. Rooms are advertised on the internet for $114. I had stayed 4 nights at a hotel in Houston that I would rate at 5 stars. This hotel does not even get one star from me. Once I was able to get around the scaffolding and into the building I proceeded to the room. The room is nice and the bed was comfortable. However only one of the lamps had a bulb working and the toilet ran every five minutes. I'm tired and figured I could sleep through this. At 6:30 I hear people outside my 6th floor window working on the scaffolding. I did call the front desk and ask why they put me in a room that repairmen would be working on much less so early. Quiet hours at most places are 10 PM until 8 AM. There is no reason for work crews to be working at 6:30 on a Saturday morning. I will not come back to this hotel again. Much less I'll talk to my management about getting a corporate rate some place else.

not a holiday inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/08
We paid $109.99 for a $49 dollar room. It was a "non-smoking" room, but smelled of smoke. Room was not very clean and the heater did not work. The walls are thin and allowed a lot of outside noise in. This motel is very overpriced. We did not see the value.

needs help - won't be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/07
From San Francisco to Switzerland - the dirtiest - messiest room I have ever stayed in. Help seemed over worked and understaffed they were more interested in getting out of there than seeing things were up to expected standard. Room wasn't ready when we arrived. Won't be staying here again.

overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/06
Nice in many respects, but a few things were surprising and disappointing. One expects a guest laundry in a hotel this size, and the web site says there is, but we found there is not. No available fridge for a room we paid over $80 plus tax for. The tub bottom was slick, with nothing to hold on to - they may be headed for an injury and a law suit on that. Moreover, the tub won't hold water, so forget a bath. No complimentary breakfast of any sort for your money - there is a good breakfast buffet for $9.99. The cost is not noted anywhere. The dinner also was good, but pricey. The pet deposit is $35.

Awesome deal- the more people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/05
We didn't reserve a motel, which is strongly suggested, although compared to all the other hotels (which we did compare with) this one had the cheapest, nicest, room for our 5 adults, 1 child and a baby. Although the maids were a little loud it was great! (resturant in hotel!)
