Disappointed!

Kids and I are regular visitors to Cheyenne, as an escape from the Denver area. We had never stayed at this Little America location before, but the kids have always wanted to, mostly because of the pool. I love the atmoshpere, restaurant, fireplace, and to some extent the giftshops. Finally decided to do it this weekend. Kids were excited! We hit Walmart first to pick up some beachballs to use in the pool. But, when we got there, it was obvious the place was undergoing a renovation. The main building, which includes the lobby, giftshop and restaurants was torn up. The front desk was in a makeshift location. They'd had a computer crash, and as such were not able to provide room keys at the time. We decided to look elsewhere. I understand renovations, but they could have told me about that when I made the reservations, and let me make the decision THEN. The front desk staff was very understanding (seems they'd been taking a lot of heat from other guests and potential guests), so when they told me it would be finished next time, I kept the "if there is one" to myself.
Very bad customer relations to let people make reservations, show up, and then find out that some of the best features of the property are out of commission. Definitely bad enough to make up for what is a fine facility.
This is not the first time we've had issues with Little America. On a previous stay at their Little America, Wyoming location, they promised internet access, which was not there. Upon check in, I was informed "but we're working on it". Another time, I made reservations for adjoining rooms, which they weren't, and didn't get as much as an apology.
