Ants, stains, and sour milk!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/09
my impression as i entered the parking lot was "o my god what have I gotten myself into". The building is very poorly maintained, and ths says alot about the staff as well. They are grumpy, rude, and obnoxious. This is the overview of my stay. As my family entered the hotel room I noticed stains everywhere from the carpet to the ceiling. also the toilet makes a really loud screaching noise as it is flushed. We had to change rooms because of an ant infestation on arrival to our new room the problems with this hotel had just started. In the morning you could enjoy your cerial with some sour milk. But dont bother complaining as the hostess will just deny the milk is sour!! and to top off the day as we arrived back in our hotel our beds were not made and our room was not cleaned. I will never stay at a Ramada ever again in my life and i suggest that you do the same.

is there stuff in the water??
By wheezie37_2007, 10/26/08
ok so i must say that the lounge area in front is beautiful, but that is where it ends. where do i start?? the lady in the front was very rude. she said that she had been working 14 hours straight and then had to come back the next day and work another 14 hours. ok and that is my problem how??? the towels in the room bath towels, hand towels had stains on them. yulk!! would you want to put any part of your body on that?? the pool had some nasty stuff at the bottom of the pool, and the whirlpool(jazuzi) had NASTY green, brown stuff just above the surface of the water in the corners. we complained and they said that they would do something about it, but when we returned it was still there. latter they said that they emptied it and put clean water in it. obvisously they didn't wipe it down or anything because the same crap was still there. i had to ask for a fan because the heater/ac thingy wouldn't work. would i go there again. heck no and if you were smart you would stay away from there too. run don't walk away from this place.

Stay Away!!!!!!!!
By Edward, 08/10/08
Fleabag is too nice for this place. Has become biker hangout because it is in such shabby condition. I don't know how Ramada will let this place keep being a franchise. Indian owners are clueless as what CLEAN means....

Too many problems....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/08
Our family recently stayed in 4 different rooms at the Ramada Inn in South Beloit. The problems with this hotel are too numerous to mention. The staff was terrible. There was a problem with air conditioning in 3 of the 4 rooms. While I understand they were under construction, it seems like something could have been done about the total mess in the halls. There was standing water around the pool, making it extremely hard not to fall down. In fact, after a family member took a spill while WALKING around the pool, we asked that something be done about this standing water. The staff did not appreciate our request. (I'm not sure why there would be such slippery tile around a pool.) I could go on and on, but will just say that I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel before -- ever.

The service is horrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/08
We were actually taking our children to swim lessons at the Ramada. Catch the Wave had been teaching great lessons there and we loved them. Then one day the Ramada staff got very angry. The lady with long hair started yelling at me because I asked her a question about the swim lessons. She said "Do I look like I teach swim lessons?! You'll have to ask the coaches! We can't do everything for the teachers down there!" When I asked to speak with a manager after she barked at me she said "No, you are not our customer. Catch the Wave is. She is the one paying for a room not you." Nobody ever returned my call from corporate either. I would never recommend the Ramamda in South Beloit to anyone for rooms or swim lessons. Catch the Waves swim lessons are now held at the wonderful Best Western just down the road from Ramada.

We won't stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/07
The air conditioning does not work properly. It was so miserable in our room that we usually couldn't go to sleep until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I read a review that was written in 2006 that someone had written complaining about the a/c, but thought surely things had improved in a years time. The only place in the hotel that the a/c was comfortable was in the restaurant. Room service was never available when we wanted it. It was only available between 4pm to 10pm. We thought maybe we could get a snack in the lounge---and take it back to our room, but it looked more like a hangout, rather sleezy, and very dark- so we didn't go in. Breakfast ordered on the menu was great, but the complimentary breakfast food was cold. Don't eat the egg, cheese, bacon, and bisquit. It's cold and the bacon looked uncooked. The muffins were good. Coffee was good too. No, we won't stay there again.

An Unsatisfied Customer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/06
As far as the exterior of the Ramada and common areas go, they looked great. We got there at around 11:30 EST and had to get up at 6:30 to get ready for a morning wedding. We had to request a fan because the air in our room didn't work. Spoke with guests that had been in an adjoining room the night before, they had requested that theirs be worked on. Checked out early to get to the wedding, we forgot our personal pillows and went back early afternoon to get them only to be told that NOTHING had been left in the room. We got 2 rolls and 2 coffees at the resturant and payed about $5.00, they were not worth it. Would I rent a room from THIS Ramada again? I don't think so. Have stayed with Ramada plenty of times before, I think that this is just a poorly managed location.
