A Good Experience At Cutlass
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/06
Since February, we have been having church services at the Cutlass. It has been a good experience for us. The owners have welcomed us with open arms and have been very hospitable. They said, "You are welcome, here; this is God's place." This is a good thing to hear when involved in a new church venture. The church has been using the Banquet Room downstairs. There is ample space, and the rent is very reasonable. We feel blessed being at the Cutlass.
I have read the reviews of several other people that have stayed at the Cutlass and that have responded on Yahoo. One thing that Yahoo says that they will not accept is persnal attacks. One user said that the people "appear extremely disgusting with three tooths in their mouth". Another re-iterated the same words. Personal attacks like this "cross the line of decency". Now, these situations might have happened. Very possibly, the owners were not prepared at the time, for a large number of people (the hockey team) even though they have 49 rooms (four are special honeymoon suites with jacuzzis) (I have seen them; the rooms are clean and very "honeymoon".) But, I have been in several of these rooms, and they look nice and clean. The owners showed me a copy of a report from an inspection from the State of Wisconsin/Department of Health and Family Services/Division of Public Health/Environmental Sanitation Section dated 9/26/2005. Rooms 40, 41, and 67 were clean, including sheets. The inspector did recommend the some hallway lights be replaced that had burned out (there appears to be enough hallway light since we have had services, there). The smell in the entrance and lobby is from their kitchen which is nearby. The lady said that they are trying to minimize this by keeping their kitchen door shut. (People from India cook with curry much of the time. Health experts do say, though, that curry is good for a person's health.) I did see some air refresher in their possession. So, it appears that they have worked to improve things pointed out to them that need work. Also, I have seen them with toilet paper and garbage bags in their possession heading down the hall.
The place does look on the outside like it needs some work. The pool is still not operational, at this point, maybe, in the future. But, if you want a clean room at a decent rate ($40 plus tax per day Sunday through Thursday and $45 plus tax on Friday and Saturday), the Cutlass is available.
