A Good Experience At Cutlass
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/06
Since February, we have been having church services at the Cutlass. It has been a good experience for us. The owners have welcomed us with open arms and have been very hospitable. They said, "You are welcome, here; this is God's place." This is a good thing to hear when involved in a new church venture. The church has been using the Banquet Room downstairs. There is ample space, and the rent is very reasonable. We feel blessed being at the Cutlass. I have read the reviews of several other people that have stayed at the Cutlass and that have responded on Yahoo. One thing that Yahoo says that they will not accept is persnal attacks. One user said that the people "appear extremely disgusting with three tooths in their mouth". Another re-iterated the same words. Personal attacks like this "cross the line of decency". Now, these situations might have happened. Very possibly, the owners were not prepared at the time, for a large number of people (the hockey team) even though they have 49 rooms (four are special honeymoon suites with jacuzzis) (I have seen them; the rooms are clean and very "honeymoon".) But, I have been in several of these rooms, and they look nice and clean. The owners showed me a copy of a report from an inspection from the State of Wisconsin/Department of Health and Family Services/Division of Public Health/Environmental Sanitation Section dated 9/26/2005. Rooms 40, 41, and 67 were clean, including sheets. The inspector did recommend the some hallway lights be replaced that had burned out (there appears to be enough hallway light since we have had services, there). The smell in the entrance and lobby is from their kitchen which is nearby. The lady said that they are trying to minimize this by keeping their kitchen door shut. (People from India cook with curry much of the time. Health experts do say, though, that curry is good for a person's health.) I did see some air refresher in their possession. So, it appears that they have worked to improve things pointed out to them that need work. Also, I have seen them with toilet paper and garbage bags in their possession heading down the hall. The place does look on the outside like it needs some work. The pool is still not operational, at this point, maybe, in the future. But, if you want a clean room at a decent rate ($40 plus tax per day Sunday through Thursday and $45 plus tax on Friday and Saturday), the Cutlass is available.

Disgusting and Inhumane
By Muddychick, 5/9/06
I have been reading the other reviews from people, strong agree and the only thing that we can do is get the word out that this place should be condemned and no one should have to stay there and put up with this. The hallways are like being in a dark alley, the check in person had what appeared to be a human skull with pens in it on the counter and the list of my complaints goes on and on. We were supposed to stay there Valentine's weekend and said forget it after seeing the inside and drove 4 hours to my parents cabin. The man with a dress on behind the counter was freaky enough for me to not want to stay there! No one could speak english and they were cursing in arabic at us because we refused to stay there after seeing the dark hallways and moldy pool and electrical hanging from gaping holes in the ceiling. I cannot say enough bad about this place and agree it is like the Bates Motel.

Disgrace to the word motel.
By Josh, 6/19/05
Alright, imagine this, you are travelling for almost 5 hours on your way to hockey tournament. You arrive at the motel that looks like something you have seen before. Kind of like the Bates Motel in Pshyco. The building smells like fried food and body odor. The motel is run by a family that does not have a clue how to run a motel. All of the reservations are written on paper. With it being a hockey tournament, the whole team was staying there. Once we get to our room me and some of the guys went to the arcade where there is a pool table. Being the pool shark that I am we get our cues and set up. When we inquired about the missing cue ball, we were told by an 80 some year old man that "they take the cue ball, put it in their pocket, and they walk away," in a very thick arabic accent. Later that night the room next to us was woken up with a yell. Apparently the guest had put his feet under the covers and touched something at the end of the bed. He pulls up something that appears to be CRUSTY WOMEN'S UNDERWEAR!! When the guest went to tell the staff about it they all yell at an eighty year old woman who appears to be the maid. She made the bed and apologized. In our room there was a line of peculiar bugs that was crawling around on the floor. At about 1 AM in the morning I have to empty my bladder so I go the bathroom and flush the toilet, but wait, it doesnt stop flushing. We complained to the front desk and were told that he could switch us to a different room. Now remember, this is a father and son travelling together. When we got to the next room, we noticed that the number was 69, which was kind of scary. Upon entry, we saw a heart shaped bed, a moldy jacuzzi, and mirrors on the ceiling. There were peculiar white stains on the bed spread. I actually yelled and ran out of the room, fearing I would contract an STD from just stading in that pit. We then had to switch to a different motel at 3:30 AM and get some sleep for the hockey game the next day. Overall, this place would make a rat eat its own bodily wastes. Do not ever go there under any circumstances and if you must, dont let the bed bugs bite.

The slums, false advertising
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/05
This place was so bad, First of all it is so run down that it should be inspected for code violations. The resturant is not open but the table are still set up. It is dark and dingy. no computer all reservations are written on paper, which they had a hard time finding. The pool area is so moldy it takes your breath away. Our room witch was to be a non smoking room smelled so bad that I had to get room spray. They did not even clean the room as we stayed friday thru sunday. because the chain was on the inside door and they do not go outside so I had to buy my own t paper and garbage bags. WE could not take a shower as there was mold in the wall. I cannot believe they can do this. It was a bad experience and i would not take my enemie into this place. I believe this was falsly advertised as to their amenities. Antigo is a wonderful town. If I lived there I know I would love it.

Disgusting!
By David, 6/14/05
If you want a hotel with no water in the swimming pool, service from people that don't even speak English and appear extremely disgusting with three tooths in their mouth, dirty hotel rooms that stink of the dead and no lights in the hallway--for God's sake go to the Cutlass! I have seen better hotels in Tijauna!!!!!! This place should be condemmed! What a disgrace to American society!!!!!!!
