Complete disappointment!
By Jennifer, 12/30/09
Our family takes a number of mini vacations to Wisconsin Dells each year; summer vacations and winter vacations. This was our first stay at Chula Vista. By far this was the coldest indoor water park we have ever visited. The lifegaurds were huddled around in sweatshirts and pants. The majority of guests were shivering and wearing towels or robes while in the waterpark area. Everyone was complaining of the coldness, but no one cared. In addition, there is no daily cleaning or tidding of your hotel room..beds were not even made and the floor was not vaccumed. The room smelled horrible upon arrival and did not change! Customer service was terrible, workers were rude, and the "winter package" that included a night of bowling failed to publicize that there was league bowling every night making it impossible to bowl. This was by far the worst stay in the dells...try the Kalahari if taking your family on a winter get-away!

Will NEVER go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/09
Customer service was terrible. They tried to blame my family for damage to a t.v. in the room we stayed in. The damage was done before we checked in. When we questioned the charges, the staff and management were extremely rude and unaccommodating. The refused to believe we did not cause the damage. The charged us ove r$600 for a $159 room. Plus we were stuck in a golf villa instead of a room in the main hotel and we then had to call the desk to get shuttle service back and forth to the waterpark. What a pain!

Very disappointed and will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/09
We stayed for four days and the room was just aweful and smelly, there was a worked on their second shift main lodge named Melody that was so rude, I would never recommend that anyone stay there without a can of airfreshener, it was to expensive next time we`ll stay at the Wilderness

Not the best resort in the Dells
By tcy114, 08/20/09
This was our second year in a row. We had a good time the first year and it was resonable since it was off season. The rooms were the theme rooms. The first time was the western room and the second time was the space room. Both were not very clean or up kept...but for the price we didn't complain. There were numerous leakes throughout the building with buckets set up to catch the water. I tried to find the workout room which was a few pieces of workout equiptment stuck in the same room/office space as the coffee bar. The pool was packed and not as clean as the first time. It seemed like there was chaos everywhere and kids were running all over. It was hard to relax in the lazy river since kids were running and splashing. The food is pretty expensive. We ended up driving into town to eat. The buffet is pretty pricey and not really family friendly. Overall it is ok if your looking for someplace cheap in the Dells but not very luxurious.

We went all inclusive & loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
My boyfriend & I (both in our 40's) stayed at the Chula Vista resort in July 09. We went all-inclusive & loved it. We stayed in the Golf Villas which were beautiful & quite large. They were also situated a little further away from the resort which we liked because it was nice & quiet. I wouldn't recommend Chula Vista for older kids...the waterpark is small, but the younger kids seemed to really have a great time. The food & drinks were great and all staff was extremely friendly. All-in-all we would stay again! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Not enough bang for our buck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/09
We stayed in the condos and while they were nice and roomy we had trouble getting maid service to replace towels each day. We understood the general cleaning was on a limited basis but we were to get clean towels each day. At one point a maid came in, left clean towels but dumped the old ones in the middle of the living area and left them there. We don't mind cleaning up after ourselves but we didn't even have a carpet sweeper to use and with four little kids it can get a bit crunchy. The outside pool for swimming was not very clean, very cloudy water and lots of debris in it. I got in and out very quickly. Inside park was fun for the kids but it could use an update soon. Floor and some rides are due for some much needed cleaning. At one point in the stay the fire alarms went off in all the rooms, when we went out in the hall, all the lights were flashing, I asked a custodian what was going on and he didn't know, then he heard something on his walkie and said just ignore it. ???? Not sure if we'll be back there or not. But I imagine most of the resorts are about the same or worse. We did enjoy the Dells and all their attractions, lots of fun and memories.

STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/09
WEBSITE WAS TOTALLY MISLEADING. Room showed on website with room description was not at all like the room we received. Front Desk did not even attempt to acknowledge our complaint. The response to our complaint seemed to be scripted, in other words they had heard it before and had no intention to do anything about it. Will NEVER come back!!

Disappointing to say the least.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/09
I went there about three years ago when it first opened and it was pretty nice -- I can't believe how slummy it's gotten so quickly. And for the prices are charging, we'd should have gotten much better. The room was bad (it was in the basement and felt like a catacomb) and the entrance smelled like cat pee; the bathroom was dirty; the deadbolt was broken; the main buffet was like a college dorm cafeteria with food under every table from the previous diners and we had the same waitress breakfast, lunch and dinner and breakfast which means either they were short-staffed (which equals poor planning) or they overwork their employees like crazy. Our package was supposed to be all-inclusive, but somehow all-inclusive does not include all the restaurants. Will not go back.

Great Experience, can't wait to go back
By Imprinted, 06/21/09
I went to the Chula Vista with friends and we stayed in a Golf Villa. It was very clean and nice. When we went into town, it was only 5 minutes away, which was very convinient. It was fairly priced besides the food. But I think the best part was the service. The staff members were all very kind and friendly, and helpful. Especially the shuttle driver we had, because we were constantly taking his shuttle around the resort, and he would talk to us, and even pulled a little prank on us. He was great and we took a picure with him at the end of the stay- lol. Anyway, it was so great, I'm going back with my family next week and can't wait! Oh yeah! And really, if you don't want to pay to go to another water park like Noah's Ark, Chula Vista already has an indoor and outdoor water park, which were AWESOME! Better than anyother water park I've been to.
