Fairfield Inn Charleston, Charleston

We stayed here back in Sept 05,. Thank GOD we only paid for one night. The room was terribly filthy. Mold a 1/4" thick was growing on the tv, window sill, phone...etc. We we called the front desk about it they said they could give us a different room and only gave us $5.00 off the stay. They refused to give us our money back! NEVER AGAIN will I stay at any Fairfield Inn.

This hotel was the worst hotel i had ever stayed in. The employees were terribley rude, the managers were obnoxious, the first room they tryed to put me in was filthy! I don't even want to know what in the world was all over those sheets! We would definitely not have stayed there had the rooms not been payed for in advance.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn for labor day weekend. The rate was affordable and the service was outstanding. Ladies at the front desk were more than willing to help with any need, even giving us directions and recommending places to go eat! After sleeping in late one afternoon, we were suprised our room was still cleaned when we left for lunch around 1:30. Charleston we found though has little to offor in the way of entertainment. there is a mall within walking distance (0.6 miles) with a few resturants around it. There is the Tri-State racing and gaming center about 20 minutes away where they host daily greyhound races, and have a small casino. Overall i believe despite being in a fairly boring city, this hotel made the stay enjoyable. Continental breakfast in the mornings exceeded my expectations (waffle maker, biscuits with sausage gravy, microwaveable sandwiches). Also, throughtout the day, the lobby had free Sweet tea and Lemonade available, as well as coffee and warm cookies!

I stayed at the Fairfield back in October, 2007. My father was having open heart surgery at CAMC. I would recommend this motel to anyone experiencing a traumatic family medical problem. The folks that work here are the kindest I have encountered yet. They would even inquire almost daily as I came and went as to his condition, and express their concern. Also, the room was always clean and fresh. The continental breakfast was really great, hey gravy and biscuit, fresh made waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc. (you get the picture). I recently had to take dad back for an extremely long test and we spent the night there--can you believe they remembered me and asked how he was doing. So what I am trying to say is this place is the only one I care to stay in when I am in Charleston, WV.

From the moment we checked in, this hotel was nothing but a pleasant experience. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms and environment, great breakfast and a good location. Would defintley stay again!
