I Would NOT Recommend Here
By Anthony, 6/9/10
I stayed at this DoubleTree for two nights. There is an additional parking lot you can use that does not require the valet parking fee. I decided to utilize the Valet Parking. It was a mistake. When I picked up my car, I had multiple things missing from my vehicle!!! half the time could not get in contact with the valet staff to obtain my vehicle. I continuously tipped the valet persons too. Jokes on me I guess. Staff are hit or miss. Cleaning Persons are pushy. I'm writing a letter in hopes to help this establishment.

Better than the Bad reviews say !!!
By Mike, 6/2/10
Was worried so much about the room after i read the bad reviews, so first asked to see the room before i paid for it (Memorial Day weekend) . Yeah it's some good and bad so let me go through them for you. Probably not the best for large group business matters, more just you/or the babe/wife for a night on the town kinda hotel. I give the hotel 6 out of 10 and i go to hotels alot just to relax and hang out with the wife (Omni/Hyatt/Embassy suites ) kinda guy. The location is perfect, right off the Broad street,VCU, places you may want to eat or historical downtown tours. The carpet around the hotel main halls were a little shabby but the room floors weren't bad, the tubs could use work, small bathroom but the bed was NICE and COMFY. Now my favorite place was the rooftop pool, NICE SUNSET AREA! Have the bartender make u a nice cocktail, have her cut the ice down and enjoy the view with a good cigar. Unless u have a mega expensive car just park on the street across from the hotel it will be fine on the weekends. The staff looked busy and even if they are uneducated, they could be out on the street hurting people and not making an honest living. (Don't judge the less fortunate!!) A coulpe of panhandlers were around but nothing an alert person couldn't handle ( My guy ran straight to the store and brought a beer..lol..Oh well) Anyway Great Bed/Great Pool area and unlimited cookies, Dont knock this place until you try it , i did and will be back!!!

Meeting Planner - Will NEVER book here again!
By SusanS, 8/28/09
I am a meeting planner who booked a corporate meeting here. This is NOT a safe area of town! There is a half-way house located nearby and two of us were followed until a police showed up. The police officer did not seem surprised. Meeting room was horrible!! A small air conditioning unit was all the room had. It dripped water on the floor during the entire meeting and did almost nothing to keep the room comfortable. By the way, the power cords were sitting right in that water since there were very few outlets for our audio/visual epuipment. The banquet staff was unwilling to move us to a larger/empty/cooler room for the remainder of our meeting. I offered to set up the tables and chairs myself. They wouldn't allow it. There were a few people on the banquet staff who really tried to help make a terrible situation better, but the managers on duty that day did all they could to prevent that from happening. In the end, we were not charged for our meeting space, but that did not make up for the terrible learning conditions that our participants had to put up with for the weekend. By the way, this is the first review I have EVER written. That's what an impression it made on me!

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/06
I think half the reviews on this hotel are bogus. This was a terrible hotel. The front desk was sloppy and unprofessional. The entire hotel was awfully cramped. I thought it was a good thing that they had a parking garage under the hotel, I was wrong. It was poorly lit, and there were boxes in every corner. The hallways were dark and smelled badly, and the room was worse. And to top it off I haven’t had such a poor nights sleep on a hotel mattress in years. Overall, this was the worst hotel I’ve been in a long time.

Great personal service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/15/06
The Radisson had convenient parking under the hotel with direct access to lobby and rooms. The staff and management were unusually kind and helpful. The shuttle van took us around to the popular areas before we decided where to get dropped off. They also picked us up promptly. We were pleasantly surprized by the European bedding which was not shown in the outdated web photos. There was also new granite and tile in the bathrooms. The roof top pool had awesome views and was a great place to spend some down time. Considering the location, service and ammenities, the price was a bargain!

Wonderful hotel, great service. The restaurant was very good and the food was exquisite.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/12/05
Overall, my experience at the hotel was very pleasant. My son and I enjoyed the room and it was very clean. The only improvement I think should be made is the parking garage.

Fair value for price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/04
The hotel was nothing special, but it was quiet, the front desk helpful and, if a little "tired," it was clean and neat. It was also very close to where I was working and had a parking garage. The bottom floor of the basement parking garage was full of puddles of standing water and the parking spaces are tight.

needs rennovation badly
By fax, 5/12/04
This hotel is in surprisingly bad shape given the chain's reputation. The halls and elevators are cramped, dirty, and poorly maintained. The room is not much better. And the wireless internet reception is poor from my room. I would not recommend it.
