Great Hotel to stay at!
By EddieW, 12/24/08
Since Days Inn took over this is a great hotel. The staff was great, smiles, good morning and always asking if we needed anything. The rooms were clean! The breakfast bar was great, alot better than most breakfast bars. Everyone made me and my family feel very welcome, and we will go back....

Excellent customer service.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/05
Front desk personnel are user friendly. With sincere responses like "we'll see what we can do" instead of "sorry, nothing is available" When we go back to Blacksburg/Christiansburg area (my daughter goes to Virginia Tech), we will make a reservation to stay at this hotel again. Most hotels in this area jacked their prices up if there's a function such as football games, graduations, etc. This area is well known to take advantage of parents and friends and also of Virginia Tech students.

My attempt at being as fair as possible...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/05
I'll attempt to explain my entire experience without being bias. First, this hotel is not the easiest to find. I checked in at 1am after driving around with bad directions from the lady at the front desk. Once I checked in, the room I initially had was supposed to be non-smoking, but it was obvious that the previous renters disengaged the smoke alarm, and lit their cigarettes. The lady at the front desk was very willing to change rooms for us, and the second room wasn't that bad. We unpacked and as I was making my way around the room, I noticed the floor under the sink was wet. Come to realize the sink leaked from the hot water pipe. In Blacksburg, hot water is a must in December, but the more we used it, the more it leaked. Well, the shower and bathroom was just renovated and was nice and clean. The TV remote was not functional except for the power and channel down buttons. The wireless internet that they claim they have was non-existent. I was able to connect for a second, and immediately disconnected. I have an MIS degree, so I have much experience in computer information systems. I attempted to call the lady at the front desk, but none of the buttons on the phone worked. As I woke the next morning, the coffee in the room was the worst I have ever had. I went to go take a shower, and found a small spider in my shower floor. (no biggie) That afternoon, we saw the cleaning lady, and asked her if she could bring us (2) extra pillows. Thankfully I spoke spanish, otherwise she wouldn't have understood a word I was saying. Check-out was simple, and the view of the mountains from the back of the hotel is gorgeous. My reasoning behind the scores are as follows: Service = 2 because none of the workers outside of the front desk spoke english. Cleanliness = 1 because the floor leaked. Location = 1 b/c it was very hard to find. Value = 1 b/c it was only $15 less than the other hotels, but had major flaws. Honestly, I would not return to that hotel. I paid $66/night, and wish I made reservations at some of the other more expensive hotels. BUYER BEWARE... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AT THIS PLACE.

Absolutely Disgusting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/05
The room was filthy and reeked of insecticide. Dead bugs in the bed, tv didn't work, bathroom filthy. Literally it made us sick. We insisted they give us our money back....the owner was quite nasty and I threatened to call the health department if he didn't. I would have slept in my car vs. staying in that room. Two days later I still have the nasty smell in my nose.

Unsanitary hotel/bad service
By Edna, 08/01/05
I was down there the weekend of July 30th 2005 for my nephew wedding. Most of the rooms smelled, some had the same linen on the bed when we checked in, buds was in the bed, called for service such as a remote and never received it.One of my family went to pulled the linen back in her room and there was hair all over the pillow where the previous person had been there. I would never recommend anyone to stay at this filty hotel.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/05
I stayed there on business due to a mistake by our travel dept. After the first night of a 3 night stay, we all left (gladly paying the penalty for cancelling our reservations). The place is dirty. The fridge made clunking and squeaking noises, the AC didn't work, everything was old and dirty, and the walls were extremely thin(very noisy). Staff was rude. Went to Holiday Inn Express in Christiansburg and it was WONDERFUL!

Only in a crisis would I stay here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/04
This hotel was dirty and gross, the walls in the room and bathroom were distgusting, stained & slimy. The toilet and tub were almost unusable. The beds had holes in the comforters. I would have asked for another room, but I looked at my neighbors and it was worse than mine. Look somewhere else.
