Overall Not a bad palce
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/09
Over all not a bad place, I did see the rude front desk in action when I was checking in! Maid service was adequate, they were short handed and had a sign posted for help, so I must cut some slack. yes batroom was small, but it's a hotel bathroom, beds were clean so was the room. I stayed at the beachfront unit and the price I paid was worth it all day long. It is located central Atlantic ave. ALl the attractions/actions are in walking distance, the view of the beach and boardwalk were awsome. I will go back again. Is it a 5 star place? NOPE! is it worth $150 or so a night in Va.Beach? Y E S !! There were 2 adults and 2 gilrs 14yrs old. The place was quiet and safe! We never once felt any concerns. Angelo's resturant was pretty good, LIttle feet down the boardwalk had the best breakfast that you could get for $4.50 and the girls were awsome with the service!

great time at the best western oceanfront. Everyone were friendly and ready to accommodate.
By Carlton, 02/29/08
the staff were so ready to please the quest for the linda's birthday getaway. Thanks to Katherine and the other people in the reservation office. One quest the councils complain of bedbugs in their bed.

Restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/07
Coupons were given for the dining room -- They did not accept them stating they were from a previous owner, but they had the name of the hotel on it. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel -- the rooms had balconies facing the beach.

Great Choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/07
My sister and I recently stayed 2 nights and 3 days at this hotel and it was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we were able to check in the room several hours early. Our room view was awesome on the oceanfront. Rooms very clean and nice. Beach was exceptionally clean and nice. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and especially the breakfast buffet. Would come and stay at this hotel again with absolutely no question.

Good value for your money
By Brian, 07/04/07
We had the pleasure of staying at the Colonial inn before and after it became a Best Western. During our first stay in April we saw renovations taking place in the rooms across the street. Be careful when you make your reservations... there are 'oceanside' rooms and then there are other rooms. If you don't choose oceanside you will be booked across the street. Parking is an issue. They have plenty of spots for the hotel... but on Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant inside the hotel has Dinner theater, and the lot and garage fill up fast, and you might find yourself without a spot to park. We asked the valet kid, and 'for a tip' he moved one of the valet cars to let us in. The front counter was 100% nice and helpful. We even gave one guy an extra piece of cake. No microwave. Nice fitness center, game room, ice cream shop downstairs. Indoor and Outdoor pool.

Won't be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/07
They should rate this hotel a 1 star.....the so-called maid service was very lax to say the least. After the first of a 3-night stay we had to go to the front desk for items such as coffee, coffee cups, drinking cups, soap, etc. The service did have no problem taking the gratuity we left however. Definitely not worth the $130.00 per night rate. Next trip I'll spend the extra $20.00 and go to a real hotel down the street....

horrible!!!
By Larry, 01/18/07
I liked nothing about it. First they say satellite tv and u only get 14 channels. The bathroom is ultra small two people couldn't fit in there. The bed wasn't even comfortable and the room smell like garbage. Dont park in front of the hotel cause the parking spaces are so small u couldn't park a 10 speed in one!!!!

Yikes!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/06
It is close to the beach, but that is it. Our room was moldy, water damaged, musty, the floors were dirty with beer bottle caps around the beds, there was a cockroach and the comforter had dead ants that didn't quite look like ants (Bed Bugs!). Its cheap, but next time I would pay twice this much to not have to worry about what is crawling over me at night. I stripped the bed and slept only on a clean sheet in a ball. Horrible parking, had to drive around for 30 minutes until a space opened up so we could go to the room. I was so disappointed. The website hams it up and it is disgusting and really old. Hard to carry your suit case up as you have to roll them up lots of stairs. Like a maze. You might think your staying in the hotel in the photo, what you don't know is there is the really run down part of that hotel across the street that you probably will be staying in if you choose the non-oceanfront rooms. Really disappointed!

Not too shabby
I did not stay in the building right on the beach but across the street. If you are looking for an adult only trip then this hotel is perfect. The front desk staff was polite. The price was just right. If you stay across the street then it is perfect for those that want to be right in the middle of the action without paying a large amount of money for extras, frills, and an ocean front view.
