Best Western Kings Quarters, Doswell

I stayed at the end of August for 2 nights during the week. I must say after reading some reviews was a little worried.. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL ! I am very picky. Location was great. So close to the park you can do a 5 minute walk to the park entrance or wait for the shuttle, which we used once. Room was clean and looked updated. It was a wet smell at first, maybe carpet was just cleaned or something, because it didn't last long. Only saw one small spider in bathroom area, but no other bugs or ants. Check in was quick and easy. Dennys/Hotel staff very friendly ,efficient, spoke english. Dennys food- good value, food just like any other Dennys, it was good, nice servings, clean. Rooms- beds move a little when you move but firm and comfortable. No problem with noise,we didn't had pool view which was good. Rooms by the pool could be noisy at night, pool & game area open until 12am. Pool area- nice size not too crowded, few older rowdy kids once but that could be anywhere with unsupervised teens. Check out fast and easy. Nice hotel for family- plenty of activities after park closes or just to wind down from park.

I have been there several times this year on business. The rooms were available on different price scales and it has a lounge. There was shuffle board, ping pong, tennis courts, playground and mini greens. The food at Denny's was good and UNOS is opening soon. I loved IT!

The room was dirty. Many large cobwebs at the ceiling, the carpet had not been vacuumed and the tub was dirty. The pool was dirty, water surface covered with bugs. The water was not clear. I know they are very busy, but the pool maintenance was very subpar. The Denny's was very busy and slow. Once we were in, the food was good. One more thing. They have a bar, but if the outside bar is open the inside one is closed. So unless you want to get wet, you can't relax with a beer after a long day at the park. The location is great. You can walk to the park entrance in just a few minutes. Not worth waiting for the shuttle.

Where should I start ? Staying at this Best Western was the worst ever. At check-in the manager could have been much more skilled in customer service.( down right rude). We had gotten into room and the microwave was dirty, went to place food in fridge and leftover melted popsicles were dripping from freezer. Washed my hands,hand towels had dirt from guest before. Went to use bathroom, pubic hairs were behind the door. Had housekeeping come to clean. We went to Denny's, flies lots of flies and it could have been much cleaner. Returned to room 10:30 pm . We were tired from a day at Kings Dominion. Pulled down comforter, our 6yr. old said yuck a booger!!! bed linens had not been changed. Housekeeping brought up new linens. By this time we were totally grossed out we thought.The next am our children thought they would take a swim. Bandaids and hairballs chased us out!!! We could not stay any longer and checked out right away!!!
