Dostals Resort Lodge, Londonderry

it's been employee housing for a local ski mountain for a couple of years now. that would explain the rough visit in 0809. its no longer open to the public,

Went to Inn across street to stay, had stayed at Dostals 2 years ago, the manager deceived, one price on phone, a larger price when there. Beer bottles, cigarettes, trash all over the place. Place went belly up.Scandals of predators surround Dostals. Magic Inn very nice, affordable, clean, rooms are nice.

I returned to Dostals in Oct 2000 after a 12 year absence. It was like being home again after a long vacation. I enjoyed showing my son where the owners daughter and I use to play Barbie dolls and where I met several celebrities playing tennis with the owners children. My parents started vacationing at Dostals 39 years ago. Fast forward to 2007...Been reminising about my childhood with my son, now 11 and daughter 6. Wanted to show them where I had so many of my wonderful childhood memories. I knew Trudy Dostal had sold the place a few years ago. I was hoping there would be a few things left as is to show my children. What we found is a bankrupt mess. According to several Londonderry Vermont citizens Dostals was bought and run into the ground. For all those who wrote reviews most recently....I amso sorry you never got to come to Dostals when it was the best part of the summer! I will cherish my memories and hope someone will save such a wonderful Austrian motel...if only we could turn back time. Robyn Luther-Ladouceur

My friend and I arrived at Dostal's at 4:00 p.m. to check in. As we pulled in we could see someone barbequing on a grill, people sitting around a table drinking, kids and a dog running around, children's toys all over and soda and beer cans on the ground. My impression was that this was a welfare hotel. We go to the office and it is locked. We have to find someone to help us and we were told the owners were away and would be back in the morning. No one knew we were coming, even though we had reservations. I did notice the outdoor pool was covered and was told it was broken. There were children playing softball in the pool area and all I could think was if they steped on the pool cover they were going to get very hurt. Later I went to look at the jacuzzis and found they were drained and filled with mold, disgusting! Our bathing suits never made it out of the suitcase. We get to the room and hated it. It's rundown and musty. The only chair in the room was covered with stains. There was no airconditioning and only 1 of the 2 small windows opened. I will admit that the bathroom was very clean and looked like it had just been done, thank God! In the morning we got up early and wanted to go get coffee. When we leave our room to walk to our car (our room is on the 2nd floor) we take a corner and find that the area near the stairs is covered with dog feces (sp.)and quite a bit too. I thought I was going to vomit. This was so sickening. We found the owner to check out and had to wait 45 minutes for her husband to come back because he had the office key. My girlfriend put the room charge on her credit card. She just got her bill and was charged more for the room then her receipt. Thank God she still has it and can contest the amount on her bill.

Don't know what this guy is talking about. The place was friendly & clean. Most guests we saw were nice young families on a budget or international students (hostelling types)on "year abroad" programmes. We met Jimmy. He & his family could not have been nicer. The place had a lively bar, nice fireplace in the lounge & a fantastic view of Magic Mountain which was only 200' away. Great place to take a walk on the trails. Yes, the place caters to students & young families but garbage? Please!

All I can say is this place is the biggest DUMP I have ever stopped at! I didn't even stay. Trash all over, both in terms of people and garbage!

the rooms smelled musty like they had mold in them, and they were not that clean either. the pool was not open as much as the web site states. over all i would give this motel a below average reting. the person at the desk "jimmy" was rude too, quoted us one rate and them did not want to stick to it when we got there.
