Weston Plaza Hotel, Vernal

This hotel is undergoing some improvements. The primary one being to upgrade the breakfast included with the room. Breakfast options seemed limited because the current table is small, but in fact there is a range of choices (instant oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, snack bars, toast, fruit, 2 types of fruit juices, coffee (no decaf). My two daughters enjoyed the indoor pool. I enjoyed the indoor whirlpool next to the pool. One caution, the floor tiles in the pool area are very slippery when wet. Our room was quiet. The refrigerator in the room included a freezer. As for Vernal hotels in general, there seem to be weekday workers who visit. Tues-Thurs are the days most hotels in town fill up. Weekends have more vacancies. (Quite the opposite of the situation in Nevada along I-80, btw.)

The Weston is a bit off town a bit, across from the Walmart. We were very suprised at the cleaniness and size of the room. We actually enjoyed our stay, even though it was for one night and only b/c there were no rooms available after. It is an older hotel but had the standard amentities which Holiday Inn did not even have (Holiday Inn is apparently the new hotel in town). They had internet, fridge, microwave, restaurant in building, flat screen tv, and comfy bed. Overall, we liked it.

I enjoyed my stay. Sorry if the oil worker smell bothered some. I always try to stay here when I am in town. Very friendly and clean rooms.

this is a very smelly dirty place. full of oil workers sleeping in shifts. you will notice a shift change in the middle of the night where one worker leaves and another moves into the room. paper thin walls and floors, you can hear others snoring and talking on the phone. managemnt is ridiculously lackluster. this place is expensive and gross.

This hotel was the only one with rooms available. We were suprised since there were so many hotels listed in AAA and few travelers were on the roads in early November. They say that "no vacancies" is normal for Vernal now, so we would avoid Vernal in the future. Compared to other places, Weston Plaza is overpriced. We paid over $100. There was only one bed, and they lacked the standard amenities like shower caps and hair conditioner. Unlike other hotels who say "ask if you need anything", the receptionist here referred us to the nearby Walmart. She was also unhelpful when asked about nearby restaurants - civil and polite but dis-interested.

This is the most un courtieous motel I have stayed at in this town and I have stayed at several in this town. I have stayed for weeks on end and the staff acts like you owe them for staying at their place. The matinance is poor but I think the staff is the worst.
