Awful !!- Broke into our car at parking lot.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/09
We stayaed for 1 week last December. This was our second time at this hotel. We are frequent Marriott guests, and got a Penthouse Suite for the five of us. On our third night, someone broke into our car breaking two glasses, and part of our stuff was stolen. At the front desk and the manager didnt care about our problem they just said there wasn't anything they could do for us. and after that day they didnt care about anything. Also, the maid service keeps forgeting to do their job, for two days, and when we called front desk the first time that happened they told us they would go later, but we had to call again so they sent someone to deliver some towels. We finaly found out we were missing one bag and one inflatable bed, wich for sure were inside the closset next to the main door, and there wasn't any reason by wich they had have taken them. The front desk again did nothing about it, they even said we could have missplaced our stuff. The day we were leaving, we found out that the security guard was preparing breakfast and talking with the other employes while she must be in her hotel surveillance. This hotel definitely has great security problems. We are defenitely disappointed with this hotel because of its poor security and the lack of importance they pay to their employee selection.

Not a bad place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/08
This was a pretty decent place to stay. It's an older hotel but refurbished nicely. It's built just like an apartment complex. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are pretty comfy. The kitchen area is very nice. All of the appliences are black and stainless steele. It's a very eye friendly and comfortable place to stay. There is a free hot breakfast in the mornings. The food is just like every other hotel breakfast but there is a nice selection. The staff, however, was wonderful. Very friendly and ready to clear your plates for you. I didn't once see an empty table that was dirty. The evening reception was decent. We had spaghetti one night, bbq the next and there were snacks another. They usually have beer and wine with the reception but they were out the week we were there. Keep in mind we were part of the Hurricane Ike evacuation group so the hotel was packed. The hotel is central to several restraunts. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a place to stay. It's a great value for the price.

The suites are very spacious...
By Brent L, 8/5/08
The first thing I noticed about this Residence Inn was how spacious the suite was that we had booked for 3 nights. There was a neat little loft and overall felt like a small apartment. I also noticed when we walked in that our ceiling fan was broken and they had actually put a bolt on the thermostat that made turning it below 70 degrees impossible, it was 102 degrees that day outside. We informed the front desk about our fan being broke and they assured us someone would be in to fix it, no one ever showed up the entire 3 days we were there. It was really hot and humid the entire time we were in the room, on the last night we were there my wife turned the knob on the shower and it fell off. We called and were assured that someone would be there in 15 minutes to repair it ( there were 2 bathroom but there were 6 people staying in this suite making it really in convinient to share the 1 bathroom that night) we waited for over an hour and no one showed up. Although the suites are spacious, that cannot hide the fact that they are still kind of run down looking. The staff was a bit on the odd side also, not very friendly and apparently didnt care to much about customer satisfaction judging by the no response we received for the damaged items in the room.

Amazing!!
By elicott, 3/15/08
I foolishly tried to save us money by checking into a lesser motel up the street. Upon check-in, we promptly checked-out and fortunately ended up at this Residence Inn. It was terrific! There was not a hint of smoke or pets in our room. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the bed linens were terrific as well. It was great to come "home" after a long day at Sea World and just crash into a good night's sleep. The hot breakfast was very good. The staff was amazingly friendly, courteous and helpful. We will definitely stay here the next time we come to town!

Great Location
By RoyGBiv, 7/7/06
I travel almost every week and I prefer staying at Residence Inn. This hotel chain gives me the feeling of "home away from home" with the added comfort of kitchen, living area, and even a fireplace in most hotels. This one in San Antonio is a great location for families, especially with kids. It has ample parking spaces and quick access to I-10 and just 2 miles to the I-410 loop. Very convenient location to Sea World, Downtown, Six Flags, and pretty much all the main attractions. Also, if you're Catholic and looking for Sunday mass, St. Matthews is just 3 blocks away. And if you're Episcopal, it's just across the street. They also have free wireless broadband internet access and free breakfast. If you want to eat out, there's a restaurant row at Wurzhach which is just a block away. The service is par, just don't get caught during the breakfast 9:30 rush hour. They stop cooking and serving meals at this time even if the actual breakfast closing time is 10AM. Towels need to be replaced. Majority of the towels are "non-white". It looks like these were the same towels used when they first opened. I don't think bleaching would help. We asked for new ones, and got new ones... but in the same condition. Overall, great location. It's what I expect for this Residence Inn in San Antonio compared to other Residence Inn I've been. Expect a lot of family with kids, par service, and par condition.

Attention to Detail
By L T, 3/14/06
The courtesy extended by the Front Desk/ Maintenance Worker and A.M. Breakfast Hostess was above average; however, the housekeeping staff needs to be tweaked. As I was preparing for bed my first night I noticed the sheets 'looked' slept on...when I questioned the evening Front Desk Clerk I was told that 'for sure these sheets had been changed and the sheets on the bed were clean' ~ however, I have never seen clean sheets with such set-in wrinkles as I did this bed. Also, during my stay housekeeping did not provide me dish towels and I ended up using my wash cloths for this purpose. It was a good thing that I had 2-3 in the bathroom when I arrived because fresh ones were not put in until 2 days prior to my checking out. With regards to checking out, because I had been held over an extra day ~ and I was in a hurry to get back home ~ when I packed I forgot my cell/bluetooth chargers. When I realized this I immediately called (on that Saturday night) and asked the Front Desk about it ~ I was told that I had to call on Sunday a.m. when Housekeeping arrived. Immediately at 8:00a.m. I called and talked to housekeeping....I told her what I had left and would she please check the room...she said she would and also check for any other items I had left. When she called me back she told me she found the chargers and were shipping them to me and that nothing else was found. Well, the very next day (Monday, I realized that I had left something else ~ a bottle of Lancome cologne ~ just purchased/still in wrapped box and put into 3rd vanity drawer.) Again, I called right when housekeeping arrived for work and told the Housekeeper of the cologne, where it was, etc. She said she would look and get back with me...about an hour later she called and said that the maid stated there was nothing else ine the room and she was sending me the chargers and a plastic container I had left....I thought it was rather ironic that she was able to find a small plastic container which was not missed ~ wasn't found when I called the first time ~ and couldn't find a new box of cologne when I gave specific directions as to where it was left....I was told that since I checked out on Saturday that someone else had been in overnight and they probably took it ~ this was the first I had been told of the room being occupied since my departure. Bottom line is that I did not feel the housekeeping (maid) staff was up to par in relationship to other Residence Inns in the San Antonio area.
