Not worth it...
By huckabee514, 8/19/10
The hotel is in a very convenient location. DART shuttle is next to the hotel and there are plenty of eating places in the plaza. The rooms stink. The first room that they assigned me was a dump. Acoustic falling from the ceiling from a previous leak, holes cut out of the wallpaper for electric plugs that were not there. The room stunk. I told the bellhop that the room was a dump and he got me another one down the hall that wasn't much better. There is no pool at all. This hotel needs to be updated and something done about the mildew smell. It is not worth the price...

great romantic getaway
By R, 2/11/08
The hotel is pretty & the rooms are very nice. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I was a little unhappy with the parking (self parking did not have in/out privleges, even at $12 a day.) Valet worked out ok, though. It was $22 a day, but they didn't charge us for the day we checked out & you can go in/out with no extra charge. There is not a lot to do within walking distance, but there are lots of nice restaurants within a short drive of the hotel. I would definately bring my own drinks & snacks, though. No vending machines, only a mini bar (2.50 for a can a soda?!!). All in all, we had a very nice stay.

Great Location - Heavenly Bed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/9/08
Great downtown location. Parking garage not very convenient, small bath and too much noise from skating rink (at/below lobby level). My wife and I stayed on 3rd floor with window facing skating rink. Next time we will ask for a room on higher floor and facing street. The heavenly bed was indeed heavenly and room service was fast and excellent. Small bathroom.

Westin City Center- major disappointment
By Mistress K, 12/7/07
This hotel is overpriced due to the serious lack of creature comforts that you can get in any other hotel. First off, the Galleria area, with the shops and restaurants closes at 5 during the week, and most of the places aren't even open on the weekends! Good luck getting anything to eat, unless you are willing to pay astronomical prices at the 650 restaurant inside the hotel. Second, there isn't a single vending machine in the whole place. So no snacks, nothing to drink etc. Unless you want to pay 4.50 for the bottles of water, conveniently tucked in your room at the mini bar. I have never paid 4.50 for a bottle of water, and never will. My friends and I had to find a drug store in the area to buy things to drink and not get our wallets raped. Third, expensive Wi-Fi. At these nightly rates, I would expect FREE Wi-Fi. Fourth, they don't tell you about the $12/day to park in th adjacent garage until you show up and pull in to park. Fifth, those beds..while they look comfy me and my two friends ALL woke up with backaches, and I am the only one out of the three of us with a bad back. Sixth, when they changed our sheets one of my friends was given sheets with bloodspatters on it. Not cool at all. Hence the 2 star rating for cleanliness. Are there any pluses to this place? Yes! The shower is divine. But really, that's about it. If you have to be downtown, then maybe this is what you want. But if you don't mind driving a little ways, I would highly recommend the La Quinta in Addison for a MUCH better, cheaper stay. I know the LaQuinta doesn't compare to the Westin, but in this case..it surpasses this Westin.

Nice hotel, but dead on the weekend
By sk, 12/12/06
The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean, with internet(wired)hookup for a fee. The only draw back to this location is the galleria that is attached is DEAD on the weekend. I stayed in the hotel on Saturday December 9, 2006 for one night and attempted to get some lunch at a sit down restaurant at 3:00pm only to find out everything but the Mcdonald's was closed or closing. The Mcdonald's closed at 6:30pm. My only option was the 650 North restaurant where I paid $10 for a burger and fries (not bad). Sunday AM I got up and of course the Galleria was closed again. Breakfast was an omelet and hashbrown combo for $12, and coffee at $4.00 for a grand total of $16.83 with tax, that was alot. I wanted to leave a decent tip so I left $21.00 for breakfast...for one person...!! So, unless you are visiting on a weekday or are conducting business in this hotel I would stay somewhere else. The light rail is next to the hotel but unless you are with a group of people you should be weary of the area as a tourist...

Shame about the housekeeping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/15/06
Well positioned hotel with good facilities. However the complimentary Internet facility off the lobby proved to be not so complimentary as it was under lock & key. An hourly charge, for its use, is normally made. We did not eat in the hotel (very expensive) so cannot comment on the quality of food etc. Our bad experience was with housekeeping where we were unable to obtain the correct number of replacement towels. Despite representations to Reception the matter was never resolved and frankly they didn't seem to care. Apart from Conscierge & Bell Hops the staff were rather unfriendly. As others have said - the beds were excellent.

Terrible billing problem
By Tina, 5/12/06
We were charged mistakenly on AEX for two rooms that were cancelled. Terrible experience trying to resolve with billing department, even though we had a cancellation number.
