Laredo's Guide to a 1 star hotel....
My family and I stayed here for almost three weeks and while our stay resembled something out of an episoode of the Twlight Zone, I have to admit the rooms were spacious, had cable TV and the wireless Internet Service was exceptional. I never ventured into the bar and restaurant but did notice from the outside to be a lovely place to eat, chill, and relax. However let me share with you reasons behind my stay...What should have been a matter of professionalism and customer service on behalf of the hotel staff turned into an employee's personal vendetta. From the day my family and I arrived, the employee took on a haughty tone with me after I questioned their $3.50 charge for requesting extra towels, despite my affirmation that we are a three member family and the hotel room supplied only two towels.
After two weeks of being there I had another incident with the same employee. I requested clean linen after my son, who is potty training wet the bed. I took the dirty lines and towels to the front desk and asked for an exchange and if possible to have them taken to my room before 1:30 p.m. for fear that if I left and did not return before end of housecleaning's workday....I would have to go another night with stained sheets. Needless to say, I did not receive the linen by the time I had to leave. I then went to the front desk and asked if I could just pick up the linen there. With a mocking and condescending tone employee replied that since I placed the No entry sign, I was not going to get my linen. Despite me telling her that I would pick up the linen at the front desk, they kept on saying that my requests were not going to be met until I removed the sign. They proceeded to tell me that from day 1 they had been trying to fulfill excessive demands to a thankless guest. I reminded said employee that I had not spoken to them since the day they informed me of the cleaning fee...and asked them what was so demanding with requesting more coffee, extra towels, a crib and an iron to go with the ironing board already in the room?, to which they rudely asked if my three year old son drank coffee as well. They continued to say that 1) there was a laundry room on the second floor should I want clean linen and that they was not there to wash. 2) that it was rightly so for me to clean up after myself after I reemphasized my knowing of the once-a-week cleaning, 3) they also proceeded to tell the manager who was listenting to our altercation that I yelled at them when I asked the linen be left at the front desk and that despite their loud voice they knew how to respectfully talk to people.
I don't know what made this person behave that way, but according to the manager this is not the first time he has had a problem with them. In any case, I just want my story to be heard.
