Great treat for a bargain price.
By Mary, 01/08/09
I stayed at the Villager Lodge (but the name has changed to Town and Country Inn now) a several times when driving through Tennessee to visit family. I chose this place the first time because they allow pets, but I have now made it a regular place to stop for a night on my way up. The location is right off of the interstate, helpful and friendly staff, good security, and very affordable. The pool in the summer was clean and blue. When I first went, the pool was covered, but there seems to be a new owner because each time I have visited, there are more improvements, nicer linens and beds now. That probably explains the new name, too. It's a relaxing place to stop after a long drive, eat some dinner (they have a restaurant), take a jacuzzi bath in the big spa-sized tub, and a quiet night in a clean room with a comfortable bed. Once when I stopped there on a weekend, I wandered over to the bar at night and had a blast dancing to the band, mostly oldies music, I think. Town and Country Inn is a place that fits my travel budget and allows pets, so I did expect a couple of problems , but I can't recall anything major and when I did bring anything to the attention of the staff (like needing a fluffier pillow), they did what they could to accomodate me (and my dog). I do sometimes travel with my boyfriend and he liked the dancing and jacuzzi the best. I convinced him to stay at Town and Country (Villager) instead of one of the other chain motels and he was actually glad we did, said it had "more personality" than the others. I'll go that way again and will definitely stay at Town and Country again. Great treat for a bargain price.

Better off sleeping in a shelter
By Mark T, 08/10/07
No security and the hotel is located in a very bad neighborhood. The rooms are substandard, dirty, and have an odor. We noticed people hanging around the hotel that did not appear to have any reason to be there. Personal information such as ID and credit card information is located in an unsecure area where anyone could have access to it. Junk card were parked in the rear of the hotel. Parking lot security consisted of an elderly man who when you drive up would remove an orange barrel (like those used in highway construction areas), let you pass through and then he would place the barrel back in its position. We were apprehensive about the neighnborhood but decided to see the rooms anyway. We immediately checked out. This hotel is not suitable for anyone.

Skip it
By Chris T, 07/29/06
Unless you enjoy the company of Crack heads Thugs and Hookers Then this is a place to skip. The night I was there It looked like homeless people had chosen the front lobby to sleep on their couches. We found out later this was the security. The room also had more roaches than towels or wash clothes. All in all a very scary place

Smell Motel
By Trina, 10/28/05
This place smelled so bad that we woke up sick to our stomachs. We left the door open until we went to bed. We had just paid 50 bucks for this puke place, been on the road 12 hours. We were too tired to fight the woman for our money back, and to cold to sleep in the car! Wish I had of went with the car. Plus, they had no towels, or linens, and wouldnt give us any until housekeeping showed at 8 the next morning. We woke sick, and got out of there at 6 a.m.

Even Veteran Road Warriors Would Balk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/26/05
When in Chattanooga, always choose spending the night in a cardboard box ahead of spending funds at this establishment.
