Great treat for a bargain price.
I stayed at the Villager Lodge (but the name has changed to Town and Country Inn now) a several times when driving through Tennessee to visit family. I chose this place the first time because they allow pets, but I have now made it a regular place to stop for a night on my way up. The location is right off of the interstate, helpful and friendly staff, good security, and very affordable.
The pool in the summer was clean and blue. When I first went, the pool was covered, but there seems to be a new owner because each time I have visited, there are more improvements, nicer linens and beds now. That probably explains the new name, too. It's a relaxing place to stop after a long drive, eat some dinner (they have a restaurant), take a jacuzzi bath in the big spa-sized tub, and a quiet night in a clean room with a comfortable bed. Once when I stopped there on a weekend, I wandered over to the bar at night and had a blast dancing to the band, mostly oldies music, I think.
Town and Country Inn is a place that fits my travel budget and allows pets, so I did expect a couple of problems , but I can't recall anything major and when I did bring anything to the attention of the staff (like needing a fluffier pillow), they did what they could to accomodate me (and my dog).
I do sometimes travel with my boyfriend and he liked the dancing and jacuzzi the best. I convinced him to stay at Town and Country (Villager) instead of one of the other chain motels and he was actually glad we did, said it had "more personality" than the others. I'll go that way again and will definitely stay at Town and Country again.
Great treat for a bargain price.
