Never Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By PATRICE, 6/3/10
When we arrived to the hotel first off we were charged a totally different rate from what we were quoted and had a confirmation on.There was a sign on the counter stated that the cable was out for the night but would be back on first thing the next morning. So that wasn't an issue at that time because we were on our way to Beale Street for the evening.OMG!! was all I could say when we arrived to our room that was located on the back facing a fence. The room was AWFUL It was nothing like the pictures shown on the website. The carpet was nasty, the bathroom was run down and the microwave and refrigerator that we requested when we made reservation in February for April was not available. We had to wait until the next day when someone checked out to receive one.The pool was green and looked as if though it hasnt been used in years.OMG!!!!!!! and the room had flies and no waste baskets for the trash. We were lacking several ammenties that they insisted were in the room and then when we inquired about them we received nothing but excuses and attitude. We called several times between February and April to confirm the rates and the room and each time was assured of everything. We were forced to stay at this hotel because it was Memphis in May weekend so all of the other hotels were booked, but Never will we ever stay at this hotel ever again.

Very comfortable and convenient.
By fwiw, 10/17/09
The staff had me in a comfortable room in less than 5 minutes. I parked 10 feet from the door and in the a.m. drove to my appointment in less than 10 minutes.

Can't take the chance!
I really have not stayed at this hotel and had made reservations but changed my mind and canceled them after reading some of the reviews of travelers. This was really important to me, especially since I was going to be paying a premium price in order to have a suite and be in the downtown area. Thank God for those travelers who took the time to write a review. There is nothing worse for me than to spend my hard earned money on a dirty nasty hotel, especially when I'm tired and looking for a good hot shower and a clean comfortable bed in a clean room

Never again!
By Ms. Rebel, 8/14/08
This hotel is the best example of the worst flea-bag hotel ever. We arrived at night to a warm reception, but found our room muggy and stinky. We requested extra pillows and blankets the next day and it took us six--SIX!--calls to finally get them, and we were the ones to pick them up. One night we were offered drugs right outside our door. Additionally, a friend staying on the other side of the hotel was privy to a "Cops"-style episode in the room above her. NEVER AGAIN--even at this price.

Needs a shuttle service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/28/07
The hotel pool is used by all the locals. At times there were more people in the pool that were not paying guests. They came in car loads & took over as there is a back gate that lets anyone in. The trolley is convenient but it is not as close as you are led to believe. We were there during Elvis week Aug 2007, & all the hotels were booked, so this was a last resort. In a pinch I would stay there again, but I would definately book earlier to get a hotel within walking distance to Beale Street. They also should think about having a shuttle service from the airport, & a shuttle to Graceland during Elvis week.

Overpriced Nasty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/25/07
Don't even put yourself through this experience. What a dump! It doesn't matter if you're only looking for a quick sleep. I found trash under the bed, the desk had been repaired with roofing nails and the bathroom was disgusting. Only positive is the convenient location.

By ., 4/29/07
strang cleaning staff... even after room was cleaned it still looks ,smell and is dirty...needs high speed internet in rooms not just in the lobby ... needs to get all ice and soda machines working not just some... front desk staff very nice and helpfull ... very nere hospitals and good rates ... for some strang resson they do not have knives and plates at what they call a breackfast you can toast your bagel but you have to use spoons and a bowl to eat it and no butter just cream cheese they need lots of help with this someone from red roof should try and go and eat and see ... try staying in the back and see where you have to go to get ice or a soda

Stay at the nearby Motel 6 instead...
By Danube66, 4/3/07
The location is good - everything is easily accesible (zoo, downtown, Graceland, etc.) The rooms are run down, cigarette marks on the tub (in a non-smoking room...) breakfast is OK. Staff is OK, not terribly friendly - asked for a Memphis map, the attendant was reluctant to give it to me. Pool looked uninviting.

WHY IS EVERYBODY COMPLAINING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/06
THIS HOTE WAS NICE AND CLEAN. oF COURSE YOU MIGHT HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE BUT THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND OUR ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE PRICE WAS EXCELLENT. I STAY AT 50+ HOTELS A YEAR AND I MUST SAY THIS ONE IS IN MY TOP 5 BECUASE OF ITS LOCATION,STAFF,FRONTDESK, AND THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN. I DONT NIT PICK ABOUT CIGARETTES BURNS ON THE TUB BECAUSE ITS NOT THIER FAULT SOMEBODY DECIDED TO DO THAT. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I RECOMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

One of the worst
By Raymond, 7/16/06
Checked in late in the afternoon. The lobby was fairly nice and the desk clerk was friendly. The room was on the back side of the hotel facing a blood bank - should have been the first clue. Requested a non smoking room and I think that is what we received. The room reeked of disinfectant. The bathroom was small and there were cigarette burn marks all along the edge of the tub next to the toilet. The sheets were thin and the carpet was dirty. There was no soap or shampoo. Absolutely the worst hotel experience of our whold 2 week long trip. I will NEVER stay or recommend a Red Roof Inn again. Checked one star because I don't think no star is an option.
