Kept our $$, Awful customer service, dirty place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/6/11
I have never made a hotel complaint, ever. I saw bad reviews about this hotel and honestly didn't think much about it because everyone complains. It isn't until this experience that I realized how important customer service is. This is exactly what I sent to their CS. Department Side Note: Dirty, dingy hotel on the inside, wallpaper is rolling off of the walls, rooms are moderately clean, beds poorly made, and mattresses hard & cheap. We arrived at this hotel around 2:00 am on 11/28 after previously booking 2 two night stay through a travel agency. Upon our arrival we realized that we had been given the keys to a smoking room and as non-smokers, this was very disgusting, and not suitable for our stay as we did not want to leave smelling like our room did. We went down to the check-in desk and asked the woman if we had accidentally been given a smoking room. Without courtesy or politeness, she snapped at us and said, " Yes you did and I can't do anything about it because you booked through a third party." The hotel was practically empty so we asked if it would be possible to just let us stay in a non-smoking room, again she rudely said, " I cannot PHYSICALLY do anything for you." She didn't even have the decency to stand and speak to us, she just rolled back in her chair, crossed her arms, and spoke to us as though we were stupid. It was 2am and my boyfriend and I really didn't want to leave the hotel, we were tired and just wanted to sleep. We would have been willing to pay for a another 2 nights in a non-smoking room if we could have been reimbursed later for the smoking room that we wouldn't stay in. But the rude woman at the desk told us that she wouldn't help us, couldn't help us, that her manager wouldn't help us nor refund us anything. She didn't even OFFER to let us speak with the manager the next day ( because apparently there isn't one on night shift). She decided to speak on his/her behalf. I felt that we were very polite to this lady and she could have at least been polite to us, even if she couldn't help us...which seems a bit ridiculous. We did indeed accidentally book a smoking room, but there was no need to behave so rudely! How does this hotel keep repeat customers with that kind of service?! Because we were practically FORCED out of the hotel, we left and paid another hotel for a wonderful two nights stay, and this Red Roof Inn kept our money and refused to refund us although we were only there for 15 minutes. We will never stay at another Red Rood Inn, we made a mistake doing it the first time, but it is obvious that they don't hire competent individuals with a standard for customer service.

This Place is TERRIBLE... VERY Dangerous Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/11
This place should be shut down... There were homeless people and drug dealers staying in the rooms that were under construction.. The owner was foreign and i heard him screaming at multiple guests and even threatened to call the cops on a couple of them. Staff was terrible and this place is really a sore site for the area.

dark, under renovation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/08
This place needs an overhaul, and apparently the owners agree! Unfortunately, the work is just underway, and the dark, badly painted and decorated hotel is all you have right now. Give it one star until it's fixed!!

Holiday Inns need overhaul
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/08
The location was easy to find. I booked online through Hotwire, so the price was nice. However, I have never been a fan of Holiday Inn and this stay was confirmation. Bugs in the room, overall not very clean, needs fresh coat of paint & bathroom updates. Beds seemed smaller than average, not very comfortable. No free breakfast.

A diaappointment
By nearbygranny, 11/10/07
I had booked this hotel on line but when I got there the room was not what we booked. I needed a sofa for my granddaughter. I was told nothing else was available even though it was a week day night. It had a twin roll-out sofa bed but there were no pillows with it. Then I found that there were no sheets, blankets or towels for three people with the room. All of these had to be called for. The room was not very clean either. This is not something that I would expect from aroomm os this price. Other motels in the same area are much better values.

I enjoyed my stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/07
First of all I need to say that I enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again soon. I will add that during my stay I dined alot in the resturant. The service was great and there was one young lady that I want to add was one of the nicest people I have ever had wait on me. I will also add that I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. She was a very nice and respectful person. She understood that I was handicapped and helped me feel comfortable to where I could enjoy my meal. I will also add that it was in the evening when I met this woman. I wish I knew her name but I cant recall it now. I do hope that if I ever come back that she is the one that waits on me. She made me feel very welcome and I enjoyed knowing her the time I was there. She was a wonderful person.

Not a good Choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/9/07
This hotel is fine on the exterior, however, it ranks very poorly on the cleanliness side. The bedsheets had not been changed when we checked in and the bathtub had hair in it. Breakfast was very meager and attendants behind the counter of the buffet were scooping very small portions. They ran out of coffee, toast and potates during breakfast.

Holiday Inn Knoxville-Central in Knoxville, TN
By Tom Watson, 5/2/06
Maid service average. Room cleanliness average. Location adequate. The main problem was that the building structure blocked cell phone reception. Because of that I probably won't stay there again. I think $94 per night was too high for that particular hotel. $75-$80 would be reasonable.

Great Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/05
I've stayed in this hotel several times and I've really liked it. The only things the kids didn't like is the lack of an on-site indoor pool and no lunch in the restaurant. Guests have access to the Bally's Fitness Center next door, it has tons of great exercise equipment and space, including an indoor pool. Unfortunately, kids are not allowed. A great feature they've recently added is their wireless internet access. Unlike some of the other reviews I've written recently, there were no problems with their networks and accessing my office network. A great place at a great price...
