NEVER AGAIN!

We stayed at this Days Inn because there is a certain level of quality we expect when staying there. We also chose this particular hotel, over several others in Oak Ridge, because of the exterior doorways-we needed to be able to park where we could see our vehicle. We were unable to park in front of our room-our entire reason for choosing this hotel- because the owner had his personal car parked in the space in front of our room. We were forced to park in the front of the hotel, where we could not see our vehicle. While parked in the front of the hotel at night, vehicles incurred mysterious scratches. There appeared to be several rooms occupied by persons staying long-term. Wet clothing-unsure if this was laundry-hanging over the rails at the second floor rooms. Very unpleasant. Regarding the room in which we stayed- rusted light fixtures, low wattage bulbs. There was not enough light in the room to read. The fan in the bathroom did not work. The shower curtain rod was of the sort that curves out from the shower. A screw on the bracket on 1 end had come loose-the shower curtain rod not only curved out, it curved down. The shower curtain would not stay closed. There were fixtures in the shower for a towel bar, but no towel bar. The drapes/curtains on the window could not be opened and closed-the rod was bent and one end was loose from the wall, cord to pull open and closed was broken. There were numerous holes in the carpet of this room. One couple in our party were checked into a room, late afternoon, that had trash in the trash can and on the table and floor. There were dirty clothes-whose?-hanging in the closet and in the drawers. One member of our party requested an iron and ironing board. The iron he was given looked as though it had been used to iron chewing gum, and had no control dial on it. TVs in several of the rooms occupied by members of our group had no remotes, had remotes taped together with duct tape, did not work for the TV in the room. There were several issues with the remotes and TVs. As people in our group were checking in, some were being checked into rooms that could not be occupied d/t the rooms had to be steam-cleaned. One member of our group was checked into a room that appeared to be under repair-several things broken, missing. He requested to be moved to another room. There was no appropriate signage on handicapped parking spaces. We expect what Days Inn advertises. This hotel in Oak Ridge is so, so much less than. I wish I had been able to make reservations for this particular hotel through the Days Inn web site, so I could have gotten the 110% guarantee, but that was not possible. We'll not be staying at this hotel again, nor will any of our fellow visitors from last weekend.
