Hyatt Place Charleston Airport/Convention Center, North Charleston

This was our first trip to Chareston so we didn't know what to expect. The web site pictures looked great but our room smelled like mold, the beds where old, and the sink drain leaked on to the floor. Don't be fooled with the low price.

Came to Charleston to visit family, needed a clean, inexpensive place to stay. Hotel staff there are very friendly and willing to help. Gave us directions and suggestions for touring the area. My husband and I had the breakfast, nice selection and tasted good. Room was simple but clean, well worth the rate charged. The location is very close to everywhere we wanted to go. Will stay here again when we come back, good for our budget.

we booked this room mainly because of the access and pictures. Man what a big mistake, first they tried to over charge us. stayed 2 nights 1st night tub will not drain, walls cracked in bathroom old fixtures, called front desk twice because of large party of underage drinkers about 25 or more parting till 3am. called desk security come out, party started back after he left. 2nd night another large party called police yes they came for about a minute then left party started again till 4am. Police did nothing about the kids drinking. wow! We had 2 small children with us and got no sleep. Get up sunday go to take shower roaches crawling around bath tub. Wife went to front desk they said here is 20.00 sorry. bill was 234.97. Staff Very Rude! Wifi a joke! you would be better staying in a barn. will never recomend this hotel.

You couldn't open the door all the way there was a table right near the door I think they are in the process of remodleing so I wouldn't send anyone there till they were finnished.

showed up with a coupon for $39 a night. they even had a 100 foot sign saying $39 a night, yet was told they were out of those rooms and all the ones left were much higher.

my husband was stationed for six weeks in charleston and i came to visti, we stayed here. it has an awesome location. not very far from everything you want to see in the charleston area. the outlets are right near by if you are into shopping. clean, friendly staff, breakfast is good in the morning, full course breakfast.

Do not stay here!!!! The 1st thing after we checked in, we found dirty wash clothes in the sink with an open bar of soap, it was after 4 so we were pretty much stuck here for our vacation. There was a huge stain on the ceiling and the bathroom was dirty. We tried to sleep in the bed and I ended up in the chair, the bed was so bad. It was like the bed was broken in middle. The next day they did change our room, but it was still not very clean. The counter was broken with the sink leaning so bad we could not put our toothbrush on it without it sliding in the floor. But at least we were able to sleep in the better bed. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was ok for free, but they usually charge for it. This is not somewhere you want to stay while on vacation. Location was convienient to everything but you could definitely tell that the hotel was someone elses reject.

This hotel should be shut down. It is awful. The room has spider webs in the corner, the pillow cases were dirty and the room had fleas. We told the front desk that there were fleas in the room and the front desk only responed with oh. My parents room door would not open unless you pushed it with your shoulder. The room also had spider webs in the corners. Also in my parents room the carpet was wet and the room was stink. I got my parents a room change and the room key to the new room would not work. We had to get a new key changed three times. This hotel seriously needs a renovation.

THIS HOTEL WAS HORRIBLE. THE PICTURES LOOK GOOD BUT ITS ANOTHER STORY WHEN YOU GET THERE.WE COULDNT EVEN LEAVE OUR STUFF IN OUR ROOM BECAUSE WE WERE AFRAID IT WOULD GET STOLEN WHEN WE WENT OUT ON THE TOWN.THE SHOWER WILL NOT DRAIN IT JUST POOLS UP SO FROM YOUR KNEES DOWN YOU KNOW YOU ARE STILL DIRTY.THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS RUDE WHEN YOU WALK IN. OUR A/C WAS NOT VERY COLD AND HAD A COOKIE IN THE VENT, OUR PILLOWS HAD SOME SORT OF A STAIN ON THEM...STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL, YOU WILL REGRET YOUR WHOLE TRIP TO CHARLESTON IF YOU STAY HERE!

This hotel was terrible. When we arrived we didn't have any towels in the room. Called the front desk, who transferred us to housekeeping. They said they would bring them. When we returned that evening still didn't have any towels, called the front desk again, they said it would be faster if we came to get them. We were unsure if the bed was changed from the previous guests, asked for new sheets, and had to make the bed myself, and they were the wrong size. We stayed for 3 nights and the sheets were never changed (other than when I did it myself). The shower looked dirty and was stained. The fan didn't work in the bathroom. The room was unattractive due to the remodeling. Manager seemed to care but did nothing to correct issues, or compensate in any way. It was in a very noisy location, although fairly convenient for the highway access. The only thing good about it was the free breakfast, but it didn't make up for the lack of service or cleanliness. I was scared to think what I may be bringing home with me.
