The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa, Hilton Head Island

Very disappointing for a Westin. No wifi in rooms at all. Have AT&T for my provider and had no service at all, unless standing in the lobby or parking lot. Rooms were not clean and very outdated. Brass everywhere and I noticed they were not vacuuming the floors. They instead were using a long lint roller for a quick pickup on floors. This is very gross for a beach climate. The bathrooms have no vents. Saw mold growing on the walls. There was dust collecting on all vents and light fixtures. Terrible resort for the money. Also the beach is loaded with sticks all season long. Nothing like the beautiful pictures online. Do not waste your money on this resort!

I can't say enough good things about this Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, and it is a trip that I will remember for a long time, and a lot of those memories will be possible because of this establishment. The hotel is absolutley beautiful. The facilities are gorgeous: whether you're looking at the fountains, the pools, or the general decor; it is all great. We had a "resort view" room, which is less expensive than the "ocean view," so we were expecting not to be able to enjoy the view from our window. Much to our suprise, we were able to see the ocean very well, and we had a great view of the rest of the grounds of the hotel. The amenities are first class. We used both restaurant and room service while we were staying there, and they were both wonderful. The staff was knowledgable, courteous, attentive, and did not give us a single reason to complain. To fully understand how wonderful this hotel is, I have to explain what happened while we were there. We had a minor problem with our room; it was of a nature that can't easily be controlled, so it was no real problem for us. We informed the staff at the front desk of the problem, and I have never seen anyone go so far in trying to fix a problem. The head of housekeeping called us personally and they took so many steps both to resolve the issue and take care of any inconvenience to us (which there wasn't any). He even came later in the evening to meet us personally to apologize. That level of customer service and care is rare today, and it is a true credit to the Westin company. The only possible negative about the hotel is that it is located about 5 miles from the main shopping and eating areas of the island. There are biking paths that run nearly everywhere, so the appeal to bikers is great. The only reason this could be a negative is that you would have to bike for a pretty good distance to shop or eat. So, you just have to drive instead. This place is just wonderful, and I would suggest that anyone thinking of a nice place to stay on Hilton Head should consider looking here.

My family and I have been going there every year for over 10 years. All of the staff members are so positive and friendly. The entire staff would do anything to accommodate your requests to have the best vacation of your life. The front desk will give you recommendations to the best restaurants, jet ski facilities, dolphin tours and golf courses that fit your families needs. On multiple occasions, the valet have called a shuttle to take my family to the shopping centers on a rainy day. They also have a day camp for children that host multiple types of activities every day. The hotel is a classic and I hope that it doesn't change. We love the hotel so much that my we got a Starwood Preferred Guest American Express card to earn points for our next vacation! They have the best service, it's clean, they staff is friendly, it has some of the best views of the ocean and it is definitely worth the time and money every year.

The hotel was ok. The view was gorgeous. We had a baby (11 mos) with us. We had her in a stroller, but could not access anything easily with a stroller!! To get to the pools and the beach, we had to go down 13 stair steps. Needless to say, we had to carry the baby and the stroller!! We had to do the same to access the beach area from the pier. Seems for as much money as was paid, there would be easier access with babies in strollers without have to walk miles to get to these places.

My husband & I just returned from 7 day anniversary vacation at the Westin Hilton Head location. First of all this is a beautiful location and the hotel grounds are gorgeous and the beach as well. This is not a brand new "everything is plastic" hotel. It is a bit worn but not dirty. For me, it was a bit like stepping back in time. Beautiful & elegant but not shiny new. We had a prime ocean view room that was beautiful & quite. We slept with the balcony door open to listen to the ocean. Service & staff was wonderful and attentive. Breakfast buffet was beautiful & views from resturant a relaxing sunrise. Enjoyed the outdoor fireplaces in the evening with drink service from the bar, they even served dessert outside around the fire for us. The pools were all clean. Some warm, some cold. I would love to return to Hilton Head and the Westin Resort at sometime.

In bad need of remodeling. One of the on-site restaurants has the same decor from when it was built 25 years ago. We booked thru Westin and where told many things about our room that was not true. The staff was also aggravated that the Westin representatives that book rooms are telling clients anything they want to hear just to book a room. The room was nice and clean, but the facilities are not managed like you might think. The trash is not emptied daily by the pools, the carpets in the hallways are coming up at the seams, and 9 out of 10 doors on a hallway have paint chipped off of them. The towels from the hotel are left on the beach in the morning from the day before because no one cleans up the beach area. Other than the towels, the beach is gorgeous.

Just came back from a long weekend at the Westin-BEWARE of all the added fees and pass on the SPA!

We were here the same time as some of these less positive reviews and had none of these problems with uncleanliness. The hotel was undergoing a renovation during our stay, and some of the wallpaper was purposely stripped from some hallways, but the carpet did not appear dirty in our area, and our room was quite clean and attended to diligently by the staff. We had a great stay for one full week. This hotel also has a great concierge who helped us find great, fun activities for us and our kids. Overall, it was a very nice trip and you cannot beat that this hotel is located directly on the beach!

We were very excited to visit the Westin Hilton Head Resort. However when we arrived, we were shocked to find the carpets both in the hallways and in our room to be worn and very dirty. The tile in our bathroom was popping off the wall and there were big cracks, bad caulking and the towel rack was falling off the wall. The light fixtures were rusting and the door hardware was also in disrepair. We were also shocked when we were informed when checking out that there was an additional $14/night "resort service charge" for "complimentary" internet and self service parking. The "heated pools" were anything but heated and several of the other guests mentioned that they couldn't use the pool because it was too cold. Not to keep complaining, but the room air conditioner must have been fairly dated, because it was like a jet engine everytime it came on. Hard to sleep through it. On a positive note, Hilton Head is a wonderful destination and the location is good. We have stayed in several Westin/Starwood properties and this property did not measure up to other experiences. We were disappointed in the visit.
