Quality Inn St George, St George

We were treated excellent and the clerk was very kind in finding us the type of room we required. It was very clean. Breakfast was very good. Planning to stay again.

We were traveling with another couple who happen to be smokers. We are a non smoking couple with a small dog. We had made reservations and asked to see the room before check-in. We were only given 1 key the smoking room. When I asked for both of the room keys...I was told in a nasty tone that all their rooms are alike. Well the rooms were laid out the same but the smoking room was cleaner. Our room was filthy. We gladly paid the $10 pet fee,which by the way we felt was reasonable. We imagine that they feel they need to charge more for a little extra attention to the room for cleaning. Well the bed seemed clean but the carpet and the chair was visably soiled. They adverised a breakfast...it was cereal and stale pastry. The level of noise all night was also a negative factor. Car doors were slamming car alarms going off, people stumping around, and room doors slamming all night long. We got very little sleep and not much for breakfast. I would not spend the night here again and would highly recommend you look else where for a good night sleep in a cleaner room. In its day this looked like a very nice place but it doesn't look like they have made any investment in the business for a long time.

If you have to stop on the road, this is a Good place to stop, but its not a vacation destination. Its located right off I-95, which is very convenient. The staff seem friendly. The room was plain and simple. The Bed was very comfy! I could tell it had been cleaned before I arrived. The walls and rooms need a good bit of updating. That was the thing that seemed to make it feel less clean to me (but it was clean). I guess it is in line with its surroundings, St. George is kind of a small SC town. When I awoke at 8am that morning, I looked forward to breakfast. The garbage was overflowing in the dining room. Everything had been picked over. I had some cereal. There wasn't any bottled water or tap water, and I was thirsty. The orange juice was all out. The TV was a nice touch, though. I enjoyed watching it while I ate, since I was looking for weather information. Not to be totally negative, I did feel safe and secure in this establishment. It was very quiet, except for a little noise by the pool in the evening. There are vending machines and free ice near the rooms, so I could refresh my cooler before getting on the road. Traveling with a pet is hard now days but this Quality Inn charges a reasonable $10.00 pet fee and the rooms face a large mowed grass field - perfect and no noise. I had a king non-smoking room - the bed has a new Serta pillow top mattress, micro-refridgerator, the wireless internet was easy to access and is a strong signal. The room was clean but there are some blemishes on the ceiling but oh well this isnt the Ritz! This use to be a Holiday Inn - exterior corridor hotel - has a beautiful outdoor pool in the middle and they gutted out the restaurant - just open for the continental breakfast.
