Won't stay again
By ,
First off, let me say that the people at the reservation desks are extremely nice. Check in was not a problem...those are really the only two things nice I have to say about this place. I traveled with my mother and my daugther, who was 3 at the time. The water park was crowded and dirty. They give you bracelets to wear that fall off all the time and if you do not have a bracelet, you get kicked out. The pool is small and there is NO SHADED area unless you are willing to pay $50.00 a day for a cabana. I don't think anyone should have to pay for shade. The playground area for the children is filthy and pretty much poorly kept. The rooms, forget it. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. Maid service is very poor. We were there 7 days and I think 2 of those days the maids came and actually made the beds. They never changed the sheets or emptied the trash. The tub had mold in it. The toilet ran all the time through all hours of the night. The dvd player in the bedroom was broke. The furniture in the living room was so uncomfortable that you couldn't even sit or lay on it. I think you can get such better deals and a nicer place through a private owner at a private condominium. This year we stayed at Crescent Keyes and it was fabulous. I've stayed at a lot of places through the years in Myrtle Beach and Dunes Village was by far the worst and most overpriced. Go somewhere else!

AWESOME stay: Super Clean and FUN
By ,
My family of four recently visited the Dunes Village for a five night stay. I will admit after reading some reviews about the maid service, I was a little worried but that changed very quickly after just our first night. Our King Angle OF room upon check in was very clean. The bathroom especially was spotless! During our stay, there were a few days when we were late getting out of the room and the maid had already passed by so we were extremely impressed when we returned to find the room cleaned perfectly. Most hotels maid service is if they pass your room, then they will not backtrack. One day, we even had the card door stating we didn’t need service but they still double checked on us to be sure. The halls outside were vacuumed every day along with the all of the outside mats being pressured wash. The pools was constantly being tested and cleaned. The pool area was cleaned every night and was in excellent condition every morning upon opening. The cleaning even became a joke to my wife and I by the end of our stay said to each other jokingly, please people take a break from cleaning! This coming from two people who are HUGE on cleanness ourselves. The indoor water park was everything and more than we expected. It is set up in two buildings which is a great idea to help keep the crowd down from being in one place. We never had to wait on any hot tubs to open up as there was plenty. There was more than enough clean pool towels to accommodate everyone. The slides never had more than a 30 second wait and just for the record, the hotel was booked to 80%. They had free pool tables, ping pong and other games that saved my wife and I money we would normally spend on the hotel arcade for our 2 kids. The parking garage is across the street but is covered and plenty of spaces. I feel a short walk across the street is better than having to fight for parking like at most hotels. The only complaint I do have is the life guards are very inconsistent on the height requirement for the slides. The first two nights my 5 year old was allowed down the big slide but was told she was to small on the third day but on the forth day we saw smaller kids than her riding the biggest slide and she was again was allowed to ride. I do not mind the height requirements as there was plenty of other water activities for her but just wish it was not so inconsistent. Overall the stay was excellent and will be the only resort we stay at from here on out.

Travelers Beware…
By ,
The Angle Ocean Front condo/room was Ocean View at best. My room overlooked a public parking lot and Ocean Blvd. When brought to the managements attention after check-in, they agreed and gave the reasoning “Each condo is independently owned and that is the way it was sold to them therefore that is the way the have to advertise it to the public”. Hotel maid service and maintenance was beyond poor… no need to go into all the details however here are a few examples of the “service” or the lack there of: • No Clean Towels, unless I washed them myself or took them off the maids cart • Took Showers in the dark because the light bulb was burned out in Bathroom • Bathroom was missing shower curtain • And the list goes on! On a positive note, the wait staff in the dinning areas were very friendly, and the indoor water park is nice for small children that you want to keep out of the sun for periods at a time or on a rainy day. WOULD NOT STAY AT THE DUNES VILLAGE RESORTS AGAIN… there are just too many hotels in the area that has to have better service and views.

We will never go back!!!!!!
By ,
My wife and I go to Myrtle Beach twice a year for a short vacation. Was there in April and my wife got sick so we had to check out early. Thought it would be no problem to get a refund on the nights we didnt stay. But quess what, they would not refund the money. Talk with the Manager and he lied to us.........Will never go back and will tell people never to stay there.

Fun Fun In the sun ! We WILL be back!
By ,
This trip was amazing! The water park and pools were literly out of this world! The weather was HOT about everyday and the beach had a paradise look to it. There are NO words for our stay here! They even had dippen dots machines on every floor! We stayed in the new side of the building but spent an equal amount of time at both! I have absolutly NO complaints about the pools and waterparks but having to walk across the parking lot to the other side was a little harsh on the feet! We stayed for a week and it was an amazing one! The rooms were spacious and had to Flat screen TVs for each bed. One for us and one or the adults. My grandparents came along with me and my parents along with my sister. THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 NO Words. Coming back again!

Sometimes what you see is not what you get!
By ,
My family which consists of six adults and three children go to Myrtle Beach every summer together. We get a three bedroom condo and decided to try Dunes Village this year. It looked great! The rooms were very nice, having the third bath was great too!!!! The biggest problem we had was the cleaning service...we had to ask them to vacuum and take out the trash....and it seemed that when they did come it was for a quick make up the bed (sloppily) and wash out the sink and leave towels....the tubs were not cleaned, the kitchen floor was left dirty!!!!!!! we cleaned more than the staff cleaned...my dad paid over 3,000.00 for this week vacation and it's ridiculous that my mother actually did more cleaning than the staff!!!!!!! Like I said...the hotel itself was beautiful but if it doesn't get cleaned any better than it was Aug 9-16 it will not stay beautiful for long! The toilet paper was terrible....the towels were hard......We have stayed at cheaper places that had better items such as this! The check in was crazy...not enough carts for a place that size and the 15 minute loading was not enforced at all!!!!!!!!!! We watched one car sit in the 15 minute loading area for TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! It seems to me they care more about these people who are there for the time share showing (or should I say for the free vacation they are getting...and don't buy a thing). we were very disappointed!

PERFECT HOTEL
By ,
This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. There was always someone cleaning when you passed them in the hallways and the rooms got vacuumed and cleaned well every morning. Every picture that was on dunes village resort's website is exactly what it looked like in person. the rooms were great and the indoor waterpark was perfect. The staff was very friendly during our stay. Perfect hotel and will definitely go back next year.
