Hyatt Regency Newport, Newport

Staff was rude,Was overpriced,Not anything that ,I can say about it that was nice ,Will never stay there again ,And would say to anyone ,Its a joke save your money ,

staff very rude and unaccommodating. Offerred me a diffeent room since they did not honor my request..new room was worse than other,,restaurant was fine. hope this stay is better than last or it will certainly be my last time there at those prices service and rooms should be a plus

I always love Newport with its great food, shops, and sight seeings and this hotel is so nicely located in the middle of an island overooking all of Newport. We were just greatly disappointed by the service especially at the Front Desk and the Fine Dining restaurant. We spent so much money in the resto, the foods (seafood & Steak) were so so, and the service was really rude, better eat somewhere else! I thought She might be Racist since we were Asians, but looking at other reviews, I guess She was just PLAIN RUDE to everybody. Will never come back until they fix their service level.

My husband and I met in Newport 23 years ago and went to visit family and booked the Hyatt for a romantic getaway.The front desk staff was very rude. I was shocked when we arrived that there was no one to help with our bags, to open the door, the revolving door was not working.Our room was not ready, the front desk gal asked for my cell phone number and said she would call when our room was ready. She NEVER called. I advise anyone traveling to Newport, have a great time, it is beautiful ! But stay away from the Hyatt on Goat Island. They all need a few classes on customer service.

We we given a room on the ground floor right next to the dumpster which, of course, was emptied at 7:00 on Saturday morning. After the dump truck left, the grounds crew decided to grace us with their presence at 7:30 on a Saturday with their lawn mowers going. We complained to the front desk to no avail. This is a hotel that needs to work on their customer service because you can find equivalent lodging with more friendly service in the area.

I really liked the hotel and the amenities. I wasn't there much, however, we did a girl's weekend and had an incredible time. The breakfast was delicious. The only dislike I had was that the front desk could have been a little nicer. They had that NY attitude and was a bit snobby, other than that, I had a great time.

This hotel has magnificent views and the room was pretty nice too. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is unaccomodating and down right rude. They need some remedial training from the folks at The Ritz Carlton. 5 Star Location 2 Star Front Desk Staff

I disliked the fact that i booked a suite and got switched agaimst my will to a room that was equivalent to a room at a truck stop motel. I paid $400.00 a night and had to pay $16.00 for parking PER DAY , $4.00 for a bottle of water that they have in your room. And the room that i was given to replace the horrible room they gave me first was still nothing like the website described. I would not recommend this hotel to anyoone looking to enjoy thier stay in Newport , RI.

the beds,spa,pools,service,clenliness,location and value for money were great cant wait to go back!!!!!!!!!! i want with kids even they had fun. the beach is so close it really cool

I booked this place at the last minute thinking it was a quality hotel with the Hyatt name. Boy was a wrong. It was my wedding anniversary and I requested a room with a king sized bed. The person on the phone took my reservation and never said they couldn't accommodate my request. We arrived there and they gave us a room in the basement which was musty and had 2 double beds. After going around with the clerk at the front desk, I was told by the manager that "a request is only a request". I think you should get what you request or be told they cannot guarantee your request. Anyway, they gave us a room with a king sized bed that someone else had refused to take. The carpet was stained, the throw pillows were stained, there was a huge crack in the bathroom sink, the railing on the balcony was very loose and the lock for the balcony door was broken. The view from the balcony was great but it's not very convenient to downtown Newport. There is a complimentary shuttle that leaves every half an hour but it's a van that they squeeze 8 or 10 people in without any windows that open. They also have the nerve to charge you to park your car there. There's a small covered area that fits about 10 cars and everyone else is out in the elements. This certainly wasn't the anniversary I had hoped for and if I go back to Newport I'll try the Marriott next time.
