Overpriced food for the quality

I dined at Pine Barn Inn for my birthday. It came recommended as one of the nicest places in town and a great place to take my mother. Well, the atmosphere was "old" even for my mother who's 60. The food looks great on paper, but from appetizers to dessert, we found it pretty bland at best. The menu promises one thing, but the actual dish doesn't deliver. The spinach dip had so many onions we couldn't taste the spinach, our entrees tasted "homemade" but without much flavor, and dessert was straight out of a box. The over $3 cappuccino was so obviously instant as well. Wish I could have celebrated my birthday elsewhere, like at one of the lower priced but better bar/restaurants in town.
