Great location to Society HIll

....and great size beds. Service staff was attentive. Front desk was quick to resolve any problems, minimal as they were. Recommended for those who want a short walking distance to historic Society Hill or South Street.

I stayed here for a bachelorette party and the rooms were a terrific size and so close to anywhere in downtown philly that we wanted to go to. I would definitely go back again.

Bang for Your Buck

It is a good location with GREAT Beds. The staff is not overly friendly but with a little probing you can get the Sheraton Promise which may include an upgraded room; or free drinks , or additional hotel points. The price is very resonable to B in the heart of olde city night life.

All around good place

Nice place. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool, room service, and cab rides to different spots in the city. Good location with lots to do and see around. All the amenities of a top shelf hotel. The people who worked there were very nice. Highly recommend it.

Close to historical sites

Charming hotel with an excellent pool and spa area. The rooms are on the small side. Location is key here. You are well within walking distance to Philadelphia's history and the staff is willing to help you navigate it. Recommended for families.

Surprisesd by negative reviews.

I don't know what Sheraton Society Hill these other people were staying at, but it must have been in a parallel universe. We had 2 rooms for 3 nights, and everything was fine. Traveling with 5 teenagers isn't easy! Sure, the parking was expensive -- we knew that ahead of time, they don't make a secret of it. We dropped off our bags and my husband drove the car back to the airport, turned it in, and took a cab back. That wasn't too hard. The location was great -- view of the river, and within walking distance of most of the attractions. We took a subway to the ballpark for a baseball game, and it was very easy. The concierge was friendly and helpful and gave us some good tips. The only "average" rating I gave was for the housekeeping -- it seemed cursory, like the housekeepers just skimmed over things, but it certainly wasn't dirty! Also, they didn't leave enough towels -- so ask for more! That isn't hard either! I do love the comfortable Sheraton beds and all those pillows!! We paid for internet only one day, since it was $10.00. Other hotel chains we stayed at offer internet free of charge. Sheraton needs to get with the program on this feature! The restaurant was very expensive -- so we ate elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants.

The truth about the Sheraton
By ,
There have been a lot of mixed reviews about the Sheraton Society Hill on tripadvisor, so I was a little nervous about staying there. However, after staying there for three days July 14-17, I was relieved. The hotel is in a great location. There is no argument here. It is within walking distance of everything and it is right by the Delaware. This area of the city was quieter than the hubub downtown, which was nice to come home to. The lobby is incredible. It is large, well lit, has trees and a fountain and was always cool (helpful after walks around the muggy city). They let us check in a little early and our room was immaculate. The bed was DEFINITELY the best part of the room. It was king sized and the mattress/comforter/pillows were the softest I had ever stayed on. We were away from the lobby, and I NEVER heard a sound when I was sleeping. Also, we never had to wait for the elevator. EVER. An earlier review said it took forever, but that is utterly untrue. The concierge was helpful in giving directions and more often than not they opened the door for us on our way out...not something I typically expect from a 3star. We never had any trouble with getting our room cleaned (it was always done when we came back) and they did not automatically charge us for valet since we parked in that garage about a block and a half away. We booked via hotwire and got a great rate...and we definitely got our money's worth and then some. We will be staying there again next time we are in Philly. Hope this review helps! PS Do NOT go to the Bleu Martini bar down 2nd St. The drinks were overpriced and the service was the worst I have ever experienced. Just a friendly tip.

%%Gimme a Break%%

The hotel is not what the reviews state at all. The staff is definetly NOT friendly. The front desk would rather talk to their coworkers than to help the guest check in (who happens to be standing in front). The housekeeping doesn't come clean the room, they only clean rooms in the late afternoon, so you have to try to run into someone to personally ask for service. In terms of food, their restaurant is so-so...we've all had better. Everyone at this particular Sheraton is so stuck up and rude! Can't wait to stay at the Hyatt-which is right across the street during our next trip. Thanks for nothing, the price is not even worth the quality of what you will receive. Don't eat their complimentary lunches because our packaged food was spoiled and way past the expiration date. Better luck at any other Sheraton.
