Treats internet bookings like 2nd class citizens!
I am surprised this hotel has not been disowned by Sheraton. I have stayed at many of their hotels and have never had a complaint until now.
From the moment we checked in until we left (3 night stay) they denied us everything we asked for, stating, "Because you booked your room on the internet..."
For example, we ordered Chinese take-out upon arriving late at night, only to find out the restaurant did not provide any utensils. We asked room service and the front desk for 2 forks and were denied!
We also did not get the "complimentary" newspaper I saw every morning in front of every other door, I assume because of our low status. And we were not offered any help with our bags and denied when we asked to leave them with the bell desk on check-out day until our afternoon flight, (something every other hotel, including Sheratons always does for guests.) The reason for not being able to leave our bags or no free local calls as promised? We booked via the internet!
At what point do we become a guest of the hotel and not an internet user? It is my understanding that hotel resellers book rooms that the hotel has decide to release to them (often at a discount) because they would otherwise go unbooked.
Aside from the terrible service by all of the front desk staff and the concierge (I asked him for a transit map and he would only give me one if I bought a $20 tour ticket), the hotel was like walking into 1986, dirt and all. I hear it's being renovated, but even a cosmetic turnaround would not change my opinion. If I could leave a "zero" for service I would.
