Torn down
By travel76, 3/15/12
This hotel, built in 1978 - 1979, was torn down in January of 2012. It boasted the only indoor pool in the area, which was also used for swimming lessons. In its early years the hotel even hosted live music from semi-well known groups. The Prime Rib Restaurant would have weekly themed buffets, Mexican, Italian, Seafood, etc. Up until about 2005, when the hotel was last remodeled and sold, it still had some of the best reviews of any hotel in the area. The final owner was determined to save money in the operation of the hotel, but never quite got the formula right. The menu in the restaurant was cut back and no longer served their namesake, "Prime Rib". One serious blow came when a pipe froze and burst in the north wing, causing major damage. During its final years there were some days with no, or very few guests. Finally, the hotel was no longer worth operating and the hotel closed on March 26th, 2010. According to the Bedford Gazette, the hotel was purchased by the Bittner family, owners of the Gateway Travel Plaza, at a sheriff's sale in mid-December, 2010. It was torn down due to being in disrepair and the high assessment for property taxes.

do not stay at this hotel if you want to live. look out for the large stains on the carpet. The TVs dont work, and the service is horrible. When our TV did not work, they told us to move rooms.

No more
By PamM, 10/8/07
We've consistently counted on the Ramada Inn in Breezewood but NO MORE! Televisions don't work, place is run down . . . not worth the money. No continental breakfast and the restaurant is a dump!

Beware!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/07
A groupt of us went to Bedford for a dog show. 1 out of the three rooms were clean. I had to ask for new sheets because ours were filthy. We even had to put them on ourselves. There was hair all over the bathroom floor. Brown stuff up the wall. The other room had bugs in the bed and looked as if it it was not touched also.

Nice, quality place.
By Audrey, 3/25/06
Good location, right off the expressway. My Grandma and I stayed here on our way down and back from NewPort News, VA. They had everything we needed each night. Nice breakfast bar in the mornings and full dinner menu/ buffet at night. Service was good, gals at the front desk always had a smile to greet you with. Not overly fancy, by any means, but a nice, clean place to stay while passing through.

Pleasant place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/05
It was nice and quiet in the area we stayed in. Also, the morning buffet was in a nice dining area. We would stay there again.

Thank God we won't return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/05
They say they have updated the hotel, we didn't see that. The room overpowered with deodorant stray we asked to move to another. The carpets were very dirty. I didn't dare to walk on them. Climbing into bed, you expect it to be clean, there were feces on the linen. We called and asked for clean sheets. They brought some, full sheets for a king bed. We were traveling and just staying overnight,to tired to fight it.

Can't wait to stay there again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/05
What should be your typical hotel, but all too often is not. This one is much better. Compared to other hotels, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, the building is well maintained, and the restaurant is excellent. I have stayed in far more expensive hotels, and the service was nowhere near as good as the Ramada in Breezewood. This is everything a hotel should be.
